PERANCANGAN ILUSTRASI RUMAH ADAT SEBAGAI MAINAN EDUKASI ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR
DESIGNING ILLUSTRATIONS OF TRADITIONAL HOUSES AS EDUCATIONAL TOYS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN
Menurunnya ketertarikan siswa sekolah dasar kepada kebudayaan Indonesia dikarenakan stigma bahwa kebudayaan Indonesia ini sudah tidak bisa disesuaikan dan dibawa di tengah perkembangan zaman, anak-anak sekarang kurang berminat untuk mempelajari seni dan budaya Indonesia salah satunya rumah adat. Kurang menariknya pembelajaran yang dibawakan oleh guru menyebabkan siswa merasa bosan mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas.
Perancangan ini dilakukan di Surabaya dan pengumpulan data juga dilakukan di Surabaya, proses wawancara akan dilakukan juga dengan salah satu pengajar di SD Muhammadiyah 22 Surabaya, mengamati siswa SD Muhammadiyah 22 Surabaya seperti mengamati proses dalam belajar, mewarnai, kebiasaan atau kecenderungan dalam memilih warna, dan lain sebagainya.
Hasil dari perancangan ilustrasi rumah adat sebagai mainan edukasi anak sekolah dasar yaitu mainan edukasi berbentuk puzzle kubus berbahas dasar kayu, dan beberapa media pendukung, ilustrasi rumah adat dapat merangsang kreativitas dan imajinasi anak. Mereka bisa bermain peran, membangun cerita, dan mengembangkan skenario permainan yang melibatkan rumah adat sebagai latar belakang.
Penggunaan warna cerah dan kontras sebagai daya tarik anak dalam permainan ini, beberapa gambar dibuat dengan warna background yang hampir sama karena sebuah permainan membutuhkan level atau tingkatan dalam permainan, tingkat kesulitan dalam permainan akan memberikan tantangan tersendiri selain mencocokkan gambar rumah adatnya.
The decline in elementary school students' interest in Indonesian culture is due to the stigma that Indonesian culture can no longer be adapted and brought with the times, today's children are less interested in studying Indonesian arts and culture, one of which is traditional houses. The lack of interest in the learning delivered by the teacher causes students to feel bored participating in learning activities in class.
This design was carried out in Surabaya and data collection was also carried out in Surabaya, the interview process will also be carried out with one of the teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 22 Surabaya, observing students at SD Muhammadiyah 22 Surabaya such as observing the process of learning, coloring, habits or tendencies in choosing colors, and so on.
The results of designing traditional house illustrations as educational toys for elementary school children, namely educational toys in the form of wooden puzzle cubes, and several supporting media, traditional house illustrations can stimulate children's creativity and imagination. They can role play, build stories, and develop game scenarios involving traditional houses as a backdrop.
The use of bright and contrasting colors to attract children in this game, several pictures are made with almost the same background color because a game requires levels or stages in the game, the level of difficulty in the game will provide its own challenges apart from matching the pictures of traditional houses.
Educational toys that illustrate traditional houses can help children recognize and appreciate the richness of Indonesian culture. By getting to know various traditional houses, children can understand the diversity of culture and traditions that exist in Indonesia.
