Kondisi di laboratorium pengelasan jurusan teknik mesin fakultas teknik UNESA terutama alat bantu praktik pengelasan benda silindris belum ada. Telah dirancang alat bantu pengelasan Cylinder Welding Rotator namun belum dilakukan uji coba. Tujuan tugas akhir ini adalah menguji efektivitas rancangan Cylinder Welding Rotator. Untuk mencapai tujuan dalam proses pengujian tersebut, penulis menggunakan metode uji unjuk kerja untuk menganalisa efektivitas kinerja Cylinder Welding Rotator, yaitu pengujian rancangan menggunakan pipa diameter 13 cm tebal 3 mm dan elektroda ukuran 2,6 mm dengan variasi putaran Cylinder Welding Rotator dan arus pengelasan. Hasil uji unjuk kerja pengelasan rancang bangun Cylinder Welding Rotator membutuhkan 0,6 rpm atau kecepatan las 24 cm/menit dengan arus 80 ampere untuk menghasilkan hasil las yang baik. Alat ini efektif karena putaran dapat diatur untuk menyesuaikan diameter benda kerja, pengoperasian dan perawatan mudah, produktivitas kerja meningkat, dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran sekaligus bisa dikembangkan.

Conditions in the welding laboratory majoring in mechanical engineering at the UNESA faculty of engineering, especially the practice aids for welding cylindrical objects, do not yet exist. Cylinder Welding Rotator welding aids have been designed but have not yet been tested. The purpose of this thesis is to test the effectiveness of the Cylinder Welding Rotator design. To achieve the objectives in the testing process, the authors used the performance test method to analyze the effectiveness of the Cylinder Welding Rotator performance, namely design testing using a 13 cm thick 3 mm diameter pipe and 2.6 mm electrode size with variations of the Cylinder Welding Rotator rotation and welding current. The results of the welding performance test of the design of the Cylinder Welding Rotator require 0.6 rpm or a welding speed of 24 cm / min with a current of 80 amperes to produce good welding results. This tool is effective because rotation can be adjusted to adjust the diameter of the workpiece, easy operation and maintenance, work productivity increases, can be used as a learning medium as well as can be developed.
