PENGALAMAN MAHASISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN TUGAS AKHIR: STUDI PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS NEGERI SURABAYA

STUDENTS' EXPERIENCES IN COMPLETING FINAL ASSIGNMENTS: A STUDY OF STUDENTS AT STATE UNIVERSITY OF SURABAYA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Universitas Negeri Surabaya dalam menyelesaikan tugas akhir, khususnya skripsi. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dan metode narrative inquiry, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data dari sembilan mahasiswa dengan latar belakang yang beragam. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menghadapi berbagai tantangan, termasuk manajemen waktu, dukungan dosen, dan tekanan finansial. Metode penyelesaian skripsi dikategorikan menjadi enam pendekatan, yaitu Independent Study, Part-time Study, Situational Study, Group Study, Couple Study, dan Outdoor Study, yang mencerminkan variasi dalam pola sosial (individual vs. kolektif) dan konteks ruang-waktu. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman skripsi bukan hanya sekadar tugas akademik, tetapi juga merupakan proses pembelajaran holistik yang memfasilitasi transformasi personal dan profesional mahasiswa.

This study aims to explore the experiences of final-year students at Surabaya State University in completing their final assignments, specifically their theses. Using a qualitative approach and narrative inquiry method, the study collected data from nine students from diverse backgrounds. Findings indicate that students face various challenges, including time management, lecturer support, and financial pressures. Thesis completion methods were categorized into six approaches: Independent Study, Part-time Study, Situational Study, Group Study, Couple Study, and Outdoor Study, reflecting variations in social patterns (individual vs. collective) and spatial-temporal contexts. Conclusions indicate that the thesis experience is not merely an academic task but also a holistic learning process that facilitates students' personal and professional transformation.
