Literature Review Effectiveness Assistive Technology Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) in Receptive Language Deaf Children

Tujuan penelitihan ini adalah mendeskripsikan efektivitas Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) sebagai teknologi asistif dalam kemampuan bahasa reseptif menyimak anak tunarungu, Penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan fakta bahwa ASR digunakan anak tunarungu sebagai solusi yang mengandalkan visual akibat mendapat manfaat terbatas dari alat bantu dengar, layanan bahasa isyarat, dan membaca bibir. Metode penelitian studi literatur ini menggunakan protokol penelitian FIP UNESA yang meliputi pencarian data, pemilihan data dan analisa data. Pencarian data dilakukan dengan mencari jurnal terakredreditasi nasional maupun internasional pada platform digital seperti Google Scholar, Science Direct, Springer, SINTA, GARUDA dan Crossref. Data ini kemudian dipilah berdasarkan kriteria yang ditentukan untuk selanjutnya dianalisa menggunakan teknik kualitatif deskriptif. Penggunaan ASR sebagai teknologi asistif menujukkan hasil beragam serta disimpulkan efektif terhadap bahasa reseptif menyimak anak tunarungu. Efektivitas terjadi apabila memperhatikan beberapa aspek, seperti aplikasi yang digunakan, kondisi dan tingkat kebisingan ruang, penggunaan kalimat guru, dan kosa kata yang dipahami anak tunarungu.

The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) as an assistive technology in receptive language skills listening to deaf children. this study was conducted based on the fact that ASR is used by deaf children as a solution that relies on visuals due to the limited benefits of hearing aids, sign language services, and lip reading. This literature study research method uses the UNESA FIP research protocol which includes data search, data selection and data analysis. The data search was carried out by searching for nationally and internationally accredited journals on digital platforms such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, Springer, SINTA, GARUDA and Crossref. This data is then sorted based on the specified criteria for further analysis using descriptive qualitative techniques. The use of ASR as an assistive technology shows that it is diverse and effective in listening receptive language of deaf children. Effectiveness occurs when paying attention to several aspects, such as the application used, condition and level of room noise, the use of the teacher's sentences, and words understood by the deaf child.
