ABSTRACT
Innovation in the implementation of
education is carried out by higher education institutions by developing
relevant educational programs according to the needs of the world of work to
create superior and competent educators. Surabaya State University, as one of
the higher education institutions in Indonesia, also supports the
implementation of quality education by producing professional educators in
various departments, including the Department of Mechanical Engineering which
has two study programs namely Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Education and
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Males and Arsana, 2022). As a support for
competence and expertise in the Mechanical Engineering Department, there are
compulsory courses that must be taken by students.
Heat Transfer is one of the compulsory
subjects that must be taken by students in the Department of Mechanical
Engineering. In this course, students will study thermal conductivity, thermal
convection, thermal radiation, and heat transfer through phase changes through
learning activities by combining learning methods and learning media. However,
often the use of learning methods that are less varied and tend to be
monotonous causes students to be less active and become unproductive during the
learning process so that from these problems a research is carried out on
Development of Vehicle Fins Learning Material Material Heat Transfer Courses
Based on STEAM Integrated PjBL for Mechanical Engineering Students FT UNESA to
develop innovative learning tools to improve student learning outcomes.
This research uses the type of research and
development (R&D) combined with the 4D development model with the result in
the form of STEAM Integrated PjBL-Based Learning Devices on valid vehicle fins
material heat transfer courses (product validity level is very valid/feasible
from material experts 87.11, media experts 88.44, and linguists 92),
practically obtain very good results with a score of 83.69, and effectiveness
is relatively high with a total N-Gain Score of 72.33%.
Thus, the research carried out produced
Learning Material Material Vehicle Fins for STEAM Integrated PjBL heat transfer
courses that are valid, practical, and effective for use in lecture activities
to increase students' interest in learning and unite perceptions of the Vehicle
Fins Material for Transfer Courses. Heat is directly proportional to the
increase in student learning outcomes in the Department of Mechanical
Engineering FT UNESA
