ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA ROLAND BARTHES PADA POSTER FILM PARASITE VERSI NEGARA INGGRIS
ROLAND BARTHES SEMIOTICS ANALYSIS ON THE ENGLISH VERSION OF THE ENGLISH VERSION PARASITE FILM POSTER
Poster film merupakan salah satu media untuk mempromosikan sebuah film. Parasite adalah salah satu film asal Korea Selatan dan film non bahasa Inggris pertama yang berhasil membawa pulang penghargaan Oscar di acara Academy Award ke-92. Kesuksesan tersebut membuat film Parasite dirilis ulang di berbagai negara salah satunya Inggris. Menandai perilisannya, dibuatlah poster baru yang berbeda. Poster yang didesain oleh La Boca studio ini terlihat unik dengan objek-objek acak bertebaran di beberapa ruangan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menemukan makna dibalik poster film Parasite versi negara Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes guna membedah tanda-tanda menggunakan sistem denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa objek yang merepresentasikan dua keluarga yang berlatar ekonomi berbeda dalam film. Tanaman bonsai dan anjing putih merepresentasikan keluarga Park yang kaya sedangkan Kloset dan Landscape stone merepresentasikan keluarga Kim yang miskin. Beberapa objek merepresentasikan adegan-adegan yang terjadi di dalam Film Parasite yakni tenda, sepasang mata, kode morse, sepasang kaki dan tangga.

Movie posters are a medium to promote a film. Parasite is one of the South Korean films and the first non-English language film to win an Oscar at the 92nd Academy Award. This success made the film Parasite re-released in various countries, one of which was England. To mark its release, a new poster was created that was different. This poster designed by La Boca studio looks unique with random objects scattered in several rooms. The purpose of this research is to find the meaning behind the English version of the Parasite film poster. This study uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory to dissect signs using a system of denotation, connotation and myths. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study indicate that there are several objects that represent two families with different economic backgrounds in the film. The bonsai plant and white dog represent the rich Park family while the Toilet and Landscape stone represent the poor Kim family. Several objects represent scenes that occur in Parasite Film, namely a tent, a pair of eyes, Morse code, a pair of legs and a ladder.
