Komunikasi total menggunakan segala pendekatan komunikasi seperti gesture tubuh, tulisan, berbicara, dan bahasa isyarat sebagai proses penyampaian informasi dari guru kepada siswa tunarungu. Tujuan penelitian ini menguji kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan video pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan komunikasi total materi ekositem mangrove bagi siswa tunarungu. Desain penelitian menggunakan ADDIE dengan tahapan (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation).
Data hasil kelayakan diperoleh sebagai berikut: hasil validasi ahli materi memperoleh skor 4.71 (sangat valid), ahli media memperoleh skor 4,9 (sangat valid) dan ahli pendidikan luar biasa memperoleh skor 4.7 (sangat valid). Hasil uji kepraktisan respon guru sebesar 96% dan respon siswa sebesar 89%. Hasil uji keefektifan dengan uji gain memperoleh score 0.7 yang berada pada katagori sedang. Dihasilkan video pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan komunikasi total materi ekosistem mangrove bagi siswa tunarungu yang valid menurut ahli materi, ahli media dan ahli pendidikan luar biasa, praktis digunakan oleh siswa dan guru untuk menunjang pembelajaran dan efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa tunarungu.
Total communication used all communication approaches such as body gestures, writing, speaking, and sign language as the process of delivered information from teacher to student with hearing impairment. The purpose of this research is to test the feasibility of video learning based on a total communication approach of mangrove materials for the student with hearing impairment based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness of video. The research design uses ADDIE with stages (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).
The feasibility data is obtained as follows: material expert validation results acquire a score of 4.71 (very valid), media experts acquire a score of 4.9 (very valid) and extraordinary educational experts acquire a score of 4.7 (very valid). The result of the practicability of the teacher response has 96% and the response student has 89%. The results of the effectiveness test with the gain test get a score of 0.7 which is in the medium category. The result learning-based video approaches the total communication of mangrove ecosystem material for the student with hearing impairment who are valid according to material experts, media experts and outstanding education experts, practically used by students and teachers to support learning and Learning outcomes of the student with hearing impairment
