UPT Child Protection and Social Services (UPT PPSAA) is
an institution that functions to protect and help children who need special
protection. UPT PPSAA organizes social service programs for children who have
social welfare problems, such as street children, abandoned children, orphans,
orphans, orphans, children who are victims of violence, and children from
underprivileged families. Their mental and emotional instability or what is
commonly called labile makes most teenagers feel the conflict that occurs
within themselves. Through one of the programs at UPT PPSAA Trenggalek, namely
the Spiritual Guidance Program, it can help children not only to increase their
faith and piety but also to help children to have resilience in terms of their
social and emotional aspects.
The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the
implementation of the spiritual guidance program in improving the social
emotions of children aged 12-15 years and the factors that influence it.
The research method used is descriptive qualitative using
interview, observation, and documentation data collection techniques. Data
analysis techniques used include data collection, data reduction, and
verification or drawing conclusions.
The results obtained from this study indicate that the
spiritual guidance program is one of the important programs in restoring
children's social emotional through identifying children's needs, the right
method in implementing the program and the involvement of tasks and
responsibilities by all employees at UPT PPSAA Trenggalek, both social workers,
caregivers, mentors and all instructors who play a role in helping children,
understanding their feelings, providing motivation about the importance of
children's spiritual guidance and managing their emotions in a healthy way. The
supporting factors in the implementation of this spiritual guidance program are
a positive and conducive institutional environment for children, a mandatory
spiritual guidance program, the presence of mentors and caregivers who support
the implementation of the spiritual guidance program and children's
social-emotional development, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and
increasing participation of children in the spiritual guidance program. While
the inhibiting factors in the implementation of the spiritual guidance program
are the absence of children's participation in the spiritual guidance program,
the influence of the environment and children's relationships that can have
negative impacts, the influence of media and technology, especially the use of
gadgets, social media, and online games that can distract children from
spiritual activities.
