Metode Fernald diakui dapat meningkatkan ingatan dalam membentuk kemampuan membaca pemahaman anak disleksia. Selain itu, juga dapat memberikan efek signifikan yang menguntungkan dalam akurasi membaca. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengkaji secara deskriptif melalui beberapa sumber literature penerapan metode fernald untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman anak kesulitan membaca (disleksia). Metode penelitian yang digunakan literature review dengan mengumpulkan sumber data atau karya ilmiah yang bersifat kepustakaan. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui data base elektronik, dengan jumlah artikel nasional maupun internasional terpilih yang terindeks. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis eksposisi, dengan menjelaskan sumber data maupun fakta, korelasi antara sumber-sumber data dan diambil suatu kesimpulan. Setelah melalui kajian literatur beberapa sumber, disimpulkan hasil kajian literatur yang relevan berupa penerapan metode fernald mengingkatkan pemahaman membaca anak disleksia serta hal-hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam upaya optimalisasi peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman.

The Fernald method is recognized to improve memory in shaping the reading comprehension ability of dyslexic children. In addition, it can also provide a significant beneficial effect on reading accuracy. The purpose of this study was to examine descriptively through several literature sources the application of the Fernald method to improve the understanding ability of children with reading difficulties (dyslexia). The research method used is literature review by collecting data sources or scientific works that are literature. Data collection was obtained through an electronic database, with a number of selected national and international articles indexed. Analysis of the data in this study using the method of exposition analysis, by explaining the sources of data and facts, correlations between data sources and drawing a conclusion. After going through a literature review of several sources, it was concluded that the results of the relevant literature review were the application of the Fernald method to improve reading comprehension of dyslexic children and things that need to be considered in an effort to optimize reading comprehension skills.
