SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya merupakan sekolah yangmengembangkan mata pelajaran seni budaya khususnya seni rupa dan termasuk sekolah adiwiyata serta terdapat kegiatan P5. Di SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya dalam berkarya ruang lingkupnya masih mempelajari mengenai seni lukis, mozaik, poster, dan menggambar. Kegiatan berkarya belum banyak diekspor khususnya dalam membuat karya tipografi. Dalam penelitian ini peserta didik belajar cara berkarya tipografi dengan barang bekas yakni sedotan plastik, tutup botol, dan kancing baju, yang bisa dikreasikan menjadi karya 2 dimensi dan bisa bermanfaat bagi peserta didik, guru, dan sekolah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan proses, hasil, dan tanggapan guru serta peserta didik mengenai berkarya tipografi bertema gaya hidup berkelanjutan pada pelaksanaan P5 di SMPN 22 Surabaya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas VII G SMPN 22 Surabaya. Sumber data primer diperoleh dari observasi pada proses berkarya, dokumentasi pada hasil karya, angket pada tanggapan peserta didik, dan wawancara mengenai tanggapan guru seni budaya di SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya. Sumber data sekunder diperoleh oleh jurnal, buku, modul ajar, dan penelitian ilmiah. Pengumpulan data dengancara observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan untuk analisis data dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan yang divalidasi dengan teknik triangulasi.
Penelitian berkarya tipografi bertema gaya hidup berkelanjutan pada pelaksanaan P5 di SMPN 22 Surabaya yang dilaksanakandikelas VIIG yang diikuti 32 peserta didik dianataranya terdapat 18 perempuan dan 14 laki-laki. Penelitian diawali dengan proses persiapan yakni menyiapkan rancangan modul ajar, membuat PPT, membuat contoh karya, dan menyiapkan alat dan bahan untuk berkarya tipografi bertema gaya hidup berkelanjutan. Penelitian dilaksanakan 4 pertemuan dimulai dengan pemberian materi, dan menyiapkan alat serta bahan. Pertemuan kedua pembagian kelompok, pembuatan desain tipografi di canva, konsultasi desain, dan cetak hasil desain tipografi. Pertemuan ketiga pemasangan hasil desain tipografi di triplek, menyiapkan bahantutup botol, kancing baju, dan sedotan plastik yang dipotong menyerupai bunga, daun,serta tabung, mendesain tipografi dengan bahan yang telah disiapkan kemudian ditempelkan menggunakan lem.Pertemuan keempat menghias latar/background tipografi, finishing, dan pengisian angket peserta didik.
Hasil karya tipografi bertema gaya hidup berkelanjutan pada pelaksanaan P5 di SMPN 22 Surabaya menghasilkan 6 karya jenis tipografi yang berbeda dan media yang berbeda dengan kategori nilai sangat baik, baik, cukup, kurang, dan sangat kurang. Dari rentang nilai 85-100 terdapat 4 kelompok dengan kategori sangat baik sebanyak 66% dari 32 peserta didik dan rentang nilai 70-84 terdapat 2 kelompok dengan kategori baik sebanyak 34% dari jumlah peserta didik. Tidak ada yang mendapatkan nilai dengan kategori cukup, kurang dan sangat kurang. Nilai diperoleh peserta didik dari indikator: kreativitas, keterampilan, komposisi, keunikan, dan finishing.
Penelitian ini mendapatkan tanggapan yang positif dari guru seni budaya dan peserta didik terkait penelitian yang telah dilakukan kerena bisa dijadikan inovasi baru dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berkarya tipografi serta menambah pengalaman dan wawasan bagi peserta didik.

SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya is a school that develops cultural arts subjects, especially fine arts and is an adiwiyata school and has P5 activities. At SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya, the scope of work is still learning about painting, mosaics, posters, and drawing. Creative activities have not been widely exported, especially in making typographic works. In this study, students learn how to create typography with used items, namely plastic straws, bottle caps, and buttons, which can be created into 2-dimensional works and can be useful for students, teachers, and schools. Based on this, this study aims to find out and describe the process, results, and responses of teachers and students regarding typography with the theme of sustainable lifestyles in the implementation of P5 at SMPN 22 Surabaya.
This research used a qualitative approach with the research subjects of students of class VII G SMPN 22 Surabaya. Primary data sources were obtained from observations on the creative process, documentation on the work, questionnaires on students' responses, and interviews regarding the responses of cultural arts teachers at SMP Negeri 22 Surabaya. Secondary data sources were obtained from journals, books, teaching modules, and scientific research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. As for data analysis with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing validated by triangulation techniques.
Research on typography with the theme of sustainable lifestyles in the implementation of P5 at SMPN 22 Surabaya was carried out in class VIIG which was attended by 32 students among whom there were 18 women and 14 men. The research began with the preparation process, namely preparing the teaching module design, making PPT, making work samples, and preparing tools and materials for creating typography with the theme of sustainable lifestyles. The research was conducted in 4 meetings, starting with the provision of material, and preparing tools and materials. The second meeting was the division of groups, making typography designs in Canva, consulting designs, and printing typography design results. The third meeting was the installation of typography design results on plywood, preparing bottle caps, buttons, and plastic straws cut to resemble flowers, leaves, and tubes, designing typography with materials that have been prepared and then attached using glue. The fourth meeting decorated the typography background, finishing, and filling out student questionnaires.
The results of typography work on the theme of sustainable lifestyles in the implementation of P5 at SMPN 22 Surabaya produced 6 works of different types of typography and different media with excellent, good, sufficient, insufficient, and very insufficient value categories. From the score range of 85-100 there were 4 groups with excellent categories as much as 66% of 32 students and the score range of 70-84 there were 2 groups with good categories as much as 34% of the number of students. No one received scores in the sufficient, less and very poor categories. The scores were obtained by students from indicators: creativity, skill, composition, uniqueness, and finishing.
This research received positive responses from cultural arts teachers and students regarding the research that has been carried out because it can be used as a new innovation in typography learning activities and add experience and insight for students.
