The Effectiveness of Using Trello as a Learning Tool for PjBL to Improve Senior High School Students' Hortatory Writing Text

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki efektivitas penggunaan Trello untuk pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam meningkatkan teks hortatori siswa sekolah menengah. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes yang dilakukan di salah satu sekolah menengah di Sidoarjo. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 202 siswa, dan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 60 siswa yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen menggunakan Trello dalam proses pembelajaran menulis, sedangkan kelompok kontrol menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes menulis esai dan rubrik menulis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretes dan postes. Beberapa langkah statistik digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa pada kedua kelompok. Skor pretes rata-rata siswa pada kelompok eksperimen adalah 64,50, dengan skor postes 91,23, sedangkan skor pretes kelompok kontrol adalah 64,37, dengan skor postes 83,80. Terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan baik dalam aspek organisasi maupun konten. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan Trello untuk pembelajaran berbasis proyek meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks hortatori siswa.

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using Trello for project-based learning in improving the hortatory writing text of high school students. The method used is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design conducted in one of the high schools in Sidoarjo. The population number in this study was 202 students, and the research sample consisted of 60 students divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group used Trello in the writing learning process, while the control group used the conventional learning approach. The instruments used were writing essay tests and writing rubrics. Data collection techniques were carried out through pretests and posttests. Several statistical steps were used to analyze the data. The results show that there are significant differences between student learning outcomes in the two groups. The mean pretest score of students in the experimental group is 64.50, with a posttest score of 91.23, while the pretest score of the control group is 64.37, with a posttest score of 83.80. There are significant improvements in both the organizational and content aspects. In conclusion, the use of Trello for project-based learning improves students' hortatory writing text.
