Penelitian ini membahas tentang analisis ekranisasi dongeng Hansel und Gretel karya Bruder Grimm dan film Hansel und Gretel karya Uwe Janson. Ekranisasi merupakan pelayarputihan sebuah karya sastra ke dalam film. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan penciutan, penambahan, serta variasi lain yang terdapat dalam dongeng Hansel und Gretel karya Bruder Grimm dan film Hansel und Gretel karya Uwe Janson. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian yang digunakan yaitu dari dongeng Hansel und Gretel dan naskah film Hansel und Gretel. Data yang digunakan berupa kutipan dongeng Hansel und Gretel dan dialog dalam naskah film Hansel und Gretel. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu proses ekranisasi yang dilakukan oleh sutradara memiliki penciutan, penambahan, dan variasi lain pada setiap unsur intrinsik dalam dongeng Hansel und Gretel dan film Hansel und Gretel. Dalam unsur intrinsik sutradara melakukan banyak proses ekranisasi pada unsur penokohan. Terdapat empat tokoh yang muncul di dalam film namun tidak terdapat di dalam dongeng.

This research discusses analysis of ecranisation the fairy tale of Hansel und Gretel by Brother Grimm and Hansel und Gretel by Uwe Janson. Ecranisation is the presentation of a literary work into a film. This research aims to find diminution, additions, and other variations found in the fables of Brother Grimm's Hansel und Gretel and the film Hansel und Gretel by Uwe Janson. This type of research is qualitative research. Sources of research data used are from the story of Hansel und Gretel and the script of the film Hansel und Gretel. The data used are in the form of a fairytale quote from Hansel und Gretel and dialogue in the script of the film Hansel und Gretel. Data collected using the library method. The results of this study are the ecranisation process which is conducted by the director that cause diminution, additions, and other variations on each intrinsic element in the Hansel und Gretel fairytale and the Hansel und Gretel film. In the intrinsic element the director carries out many processes of ecranization on the characterization element. There are four characters who appear in the film but not in the fairy tale.
