Aesthetics of Hijab in Ludruk Budhi Wijaya

The aesthetics of the headscarf on Budhi Wijaya's ludruk aims to prove that the hijab is a new innovation in ludruk performances. Hijab is used as a support for the characters in the story that is delivered. Ludruk Budhi Wijaya, based in Jombang, is a millennial ludruk group that accepts all forms of ludruk performances, including the hijab. The results of the study were then analyzed with aesthetic theory based on the experience of Dewitt Hendry Parker, namely the theory of subjectivity about the nature of values ​​with four elements that play a role in experience, namely subject, freedom, cause, and constant. The formulation of the research problem is (1) to track the aesthetics of the hijab in Ludruk Budhi Wijaya? (2) How is the aesthetics of the hijab on the character of Sulabi's wife in the show Loyalty of a Wife at Ludruk Budhi Wijaya?

This research method uses descriptive qualitative with researchers directly involved in the performances that are held or participation observations. Researchers also play a role in the show as an actor to see firsthand the free and spontaneous responses of the actors and the audience. The results showed that the subjects (artists and audience) experienced free and spontaneous responses regarding the hijab in the ludruk performance with the play Loyalty of a Wife as a form of renewal in the ludruk performance. The existence of a headscarf in the ludruk show further emphasizes the character of the actor in the show. The use of headscarves is in demand by the ludruk group, due to the needs of the play and the request of the responders. The aesthetics of the hijab is to strengthen the character of the play.
