Kurangnya rasa empati masyarakat membuat penegakkan hukum untuk kasus kejahatan seksual di Indonesia terbilang buruk. Para korban kejahatan seksual kerap kali mendapat kesulitan dalam proses menegakkan keadilan atas dirinya. Oleh karena itu, peran media massa saat ini sangatlah penting dalam mengubah pola pikir serta tingkah laku masyarakat, terlebih dengan adanya perkembangan teknologi dan informasi. Inovasi yang terus muncul dalam media massa menjadikan penyampaian informasi semakin canggih dari sebelumnya, salah satunya melalui film. Penyalin Cahaya merupakan salah satu karya di dunia perfilman Indonesia yang mengangkat problematika kejahatan seksual di Indonesia. Film ini menggambarkan perspektif bagaimana perjuangan korban kejahatan seksual dalam mendapatkan keadilan atas kejahatan yang terjadi pada dirinya. Penelitian ini akan membahas film Penyalin Cahaya menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menggunakan pendekatan semiotik berdasarkan teori John Fiske, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui makna serta pesan yang tersirat dalam film ini. Berdasarkan teori semiotika John Fiske, proses analisis terbagi menjadi 3 tahapan yaitu level realitas, level representasi dan level ideologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa perilaku yang dialami korban kejahatan seksual di Indonesia tidak terlepas dari ideologi Patriarki yang masih melekat di masyarakat, serta adanya unsur feminisme dalam upaya korban yang mayoritas kaum perempuan untuk speak up dan berani membela satu sama lain.

Penyalin Cahaya is one of the works in the Indonesian film industry that raises the problem of sexual crime in Indonesia. This film depicts the perspective of how victims of sexual crimes struggle to get justice for the crimes that happened to them. This study will duscuss the film Penyalin Cahaya using qualitative methods and using a semiotic approach baed on John Fiske’s theory, with the aim of knowing the meaning and messages implied in this film. Based on John Fiske’s semiotic theory, the analysis process is divided into 3 stages, namely the level of reality, the level of representation and the level of ideology. The result of this study indicate that behavior experienced by victims of sexual crimes in Indonesia cannot be separated from the pstrsrchal ideology that is still inherent in society, as well as the element of feminism in the efforts of female victims to speak up and defend one another.
