Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami alasan dibalik wanita pemandu karaoke memilih menjadi wanita simpanan. Lokasi penelitian dibeberapa hotel dan tempat karaoke di Blitar. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Alfred Schutz fenomenologi because motive in order to motive. Teori fenomenologi dari Alfred Schutz dibagi menjadi 2 yaitu because motive (motif sebab) dan in order to motive (motif agar). Because motive lebih menekankan penyebab dibalik pilihan yang diambil. Melalui kacamata fenomenologi Alfred Schutz riset ini mencoba untuk melihat bagaimana subyek menginterpretasi pengalamannya sebagai wanita simpanan. Melalui penelitian ini diketahui penyebab dan keinginan yang ingin dicapai. Penyebab dari memilih menjadi wanita simpanan yaitu ekonomi, keluarga, dan lingkungan. Keinginan yang ingin dicapai yaitu memperoleh kasih sayang, gaya hidup mewah, memperbaiki taraf hidup, ekonomi stabil. Selain hal-hal yang diungkapan diatas, terdapat pula rasionalitas tujuan yang menjadikan para subyek penelitian memilih untuk menjadi wanita simpanan.

The desire to be achieved is to get affection, a luxurious lifestyle, improve living standards, a stable economy. In addition to the things stated above, there is also a rationality of purpose that makes the research subjects choose to become mistresses.
