Penelitian ini berdasarkan adanya hambatan dalam kemampuan pengenalan ekspresi emosi anak spektrum autis. Hambatan anak spektrum autis di SLB Harapan Bunda yaitu pengenalan ekspresi emosi yang dimiliki masih kurang. Melalui penggunaan social stories terhadap kemampuan ekspresi emosi anak spektrum autis diharapkan mampu mengembangkan kemampuan pengenalan ekspresi emosi anak spektrum autis di SLB Harapan Bunda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh penggunaan social stories terhadap kemampuan pengenalan ekspresi emosi anak spektrum autis.
Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian pre eksperimen dan jenis rancangan penelitian one group pre-test post-test design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan tes dan observasi. Teknik anailsis data yang digunakan dalam analisis data penelitian ini yaitu wilcoxon matched pair test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa T=0 sama dengan nilai kritis (tabel) 5% (pengujian dua sisi) yaitu 0 berarti T , bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan social stories terhadap kemampuan ekspresi emosi anak spektrum autis di SLB Harapan Bunda.

This research was set a background by the hindrance in recognizing emotion expression ability of spectrum autism children. Based on the hindrance, it was done research about the influence of Social Stories usage toward emotion expression usage of spectrum autism children in SLB Harapan Bunda. The implementation purpose of this research was to test the influence of Social Stories usage toward recognizing emotion expression ability of spectrum autism children.
The research approach used was quantitative approach with pre experiment kind and the research arrangement was one group pretest – posttest design. The statistic technique used in this research data analysis was Wilcoxon matched pairs test. The techniques of data collection used were test and observation. The research result indicated that T = 0 was the same with the critic value Tα (table) 5% (two sides test) i.e. 0 meant T ≤ Tα which could be stated that there was influence of social stories usage toward emotion expression ability of spectrum autism children in SLB Harapan Bunda.
