Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh proses belajar mengajar yang masih menggunakan cara konvensional. Kurangnya pemanfaatan media pembalajaran membuat minat belajar peserta didik menurun dan kemampuan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran teks fabel belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM). Dalam meningkatkan kualitas belajar peserta didik, media scrapbook (album kolase) dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu belajar yang menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan media scrapbook untuk pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks fabel, (2) mendeskripsikan kualitas media scrapbook untuk pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks fabel yang terdiri atas mendeskripsikan kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan.
Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengacu pada penelitian pengembangan Sadiman, yakni (1) identifikasi kebutuhan, (2) perumusan tujuan, (3) perumusan butir-butir materi, (4) perumusan alat pengukur kebehasilan, (5) penulisan naskah media, (6) tes/ uji coba, (7) revisi, dan (8) naskah siap produksi. Penelitian ini mengikuti konsep pengembangan Sadiman karena langkah-langkahnya tersusun secara sistematis sehingga memudahkan proses penelitian. Sumber data proses pengembangan penelitian yakni peneliti, dan peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Taman, sedangkan sumber data untuk kualitas media scrapbook yakni validator, peserta didik, dan pendidik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni angket, validasi, observasi, dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus untuk menghitung angket, validasi, observasi, dan tes.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan media scrapbook berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan 8 tahap pengembangan Sadiman. Berdasarkan hasil angket kebutuhan, 78% peserta didik membutuhkan pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks fabel menggunakan media scrapbook. Hasil validasi media scrapbook memiliki persentase 97% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Media yang sudah divalidasi diproduksi secara massal dan dapat digunakan peserta didik dalam proses belajar mengajar. Kepraktisan media scrapbook berdasarkan angket respon peserta didik memiliki persentase 93% dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. Keefektifan media scrapbook dapat diketahui melalui hasil belajar peserta didik dengan nilai rata-rata 86.22. Hasil pengamatan aktivitas peserta didik dan aktivitas pendidik menunjukkan persentase 94%. Hal ini dapat dikategorikan, keefektifan media scrapbook “sangat baik”. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media scrapbook memenuhi kriteria untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks fabel.

This research is based on the teaching and learning process that still uses conventional methods. The lack of learning media usage makes students’ learning interest decreased and the students’ ability in learning fable have not yet reached the Minimum Criteria of Mastery Learning (KKM). To improve the quality of learning, scrapbook can be used as an interesting learning tool. The purposes of this research are (1) to describe the process of scrapbook media development for fable identification learning, (2) to describe the quality of scrapbook for fable identification learning i.e. validity, practicality, and effectiveness.
This research type is development research with quantitative descriptive research methods. This development research is referring to Sadiman’s development research, i.e. (1) identification of needs, (2) formulation of purpose, (3) formulation of material items, (4) formulation of measuring success, (5) process of media scripts writing, (6) try out, (7) revision, and (8) manuscript ready for production. This research follows Sadiman’s development concept because it’s steps are systematically arrange this facilitate the research process. The data sources of this research development process are researchers and VII grade students of Junior High School 1 Taman, while the data sources for scrapbook media quality are validators, students, and teachers. The data collection techniques of this research are questionnaire, validation, observation, and test.
The results showed that the process of developing scrapbook media went well according to 8 steps of Sadiman’s development. According to the questionnaire, 78% students need fable identification learning using scrapbook media. The results of scrapbook media validation have a percentage of 97% with “very feasible” category. The media that has been validated are mass produced and can be used by students in learning and teaching process. The practicality of scrapbook media based on the students’ questionnaire has a percentage of 93% with “very practical” category. Effectiveness of scrapbook media can be known through students’ learning outcome with an average score of 86.22. The observation result of student’s activities has a percentage of 94% so is the teacher’s result. This can be categorized that the effectiveness of scrapbook media is “very good”. Therefore, the conclusion is scrapbook media meet the criteria to be used in the fable identification learning process.
