Pembelajaran hasil karya Koreografi Pendidikan di SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya ini menjadi obyek penelitian dengan praktek penciptaan Tarian untuk siswa SMP kelas VIII mengandung unsur Pendidikan sekaligus sebagai sarana belajar di mata pelajaran Seni Budaya, judul garapannya Gerak dan Lagu “Daerah”. Pembuatan karya ini juga disesuaikan dengan Kurikulum 2013 kelas VIII Seni Musik yaitu mempelajari lagu-lagu Daerah serta pengiringnya menggunakan jenis Akustik. Penulis memilih siswa SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya untuk kegiatan pembelajaran Koreografi Pendidikan serta membuat jadwal dengan tempat latihan di Sekolah, lalu akan dipentaskan di Gedung Pertunjukan Sawunggaling Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Garapan karya ini dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran mata pelajaran Seni Budaya dengan mengambil materi Lagu Daerah seperti Apuse, Yamko Rambe Yamko, Soleram, Anak Kambing Saya, Kicir-Kicir untuk bahan ajar yang diberikan kepada peserta didik.
Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Bagaimana proses pembelajaran hasil karya Koreografi Pendidikan dalam peningkatan Karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya, (2) Bagaimana dampak pembelajaran hasil karya Koreografi Pendidikan dalam peningkatan Karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya. Metode penelitian menggunakan jenis pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang dapat diamati oleh proses penelitian. Pengumpulan datanya menggunakan teknik observasi secara terus terang, wawancara dengan bidang kesiswaan, Guru Seni Budaya dan Ekstrakurikuler, angket untuk peserta didik terpilih menjadi peraga Tari, dokumentasi berupa bukti penelitian dalam bentuk tulisan, gambar, rekaman maupun audio visual. Lalu validitas data melalui Triangulasi sumber, teknik, waktu, agar menghasilkan data berupa proses dan dampak dari pembelajaran Koreografi Pendidikan. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan komponen-komponen pokok dalam pelaksanaan proses belajar mengajar mencakup tujuan pembelajaran sesuai Kurikulum dengan mengekspresikan beberapa lagu Daerah yang diambil dari hasil karya Koreografi Pendidikan sebagai bahan materi oleh pendidik atau Guru untuk diajarkan kepada peserta didik menggunakan strategi belajar pendekatan saintifik, media pembelajarannya audio visual, internet, laptop selanjutnya mengevaluasi kemajuan belajar siswa. Lalu ada dua faktor mempengaruhi belajar yaitu, Intern meliputi jasmaniah, psikologis, kelelahan serta Ekstern meliputi keluarga, Sekolah, masyarakat, serta membahas tentang kontribusi penulis dengan SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya.
Dampak positif perubahan peningkatan nilai-nilai Karakter pada peserta didik saat kegiatan pembelajaran hasil karya Koreografi Pendidikan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh baik yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran yaitu membentuk dan merubah sikap siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri, aktif, mampu mengontrol emosi, menghargai teman, menghormati orang tua serta memiliki sopan santun, dapat menambah wawasan, pengalaman, meningkatkan nilai di mata pelajaran Seni Budaya. Nilai-nilai Karakternya adalah mengutamakan sikap jujur, disiplin, mandiri, bersahabat, tanggung jawab. Dampak negatifnya, siswa menjadi banyak melakukan kegiatan di Sekolah dengan menambah waktu atau jam untuk berlatih dan dituntut menghafal lagu Daerah serta gerakan tariannya.

The learning of education choreography art results in SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya become research object with dancing creation practice for SMP students in VIII grade which contain education constituent and also become learning medium in the arts and cultures learning subject, that has result title “local” movements and songs. The creation of the art result is based on 2012 curriculum of VIII glass which is learning about local songs with acoustic music accompanist music genre. The researcher chose students of SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya for the education choreography learning activities also creating learning schedule with learning places in the school, then will be staged in the State University of Surabaya show hall. The result of the art creation will be used as the learning alternatives of arts and culture study subject through collected local songs learning material such as Apuse, Yamko Rambe Yamko, Soleram, Anak Kambing Saya, Kicir-Kicir as the learning material sources that is delivered to the students.
The research problems of this research was (1) how does the process of the learning education art creation results in the enchantment of students characters in the SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya, (2) How does the effect of the learning education art creation results the enchantment of students characters in the SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya. the research method was qualitative descriptive to describe the results of the study in the form written words or spoken languages from the people and behaviors that can be observed in the research process. The data collection was conducted through clear observations, interview with student’s school committee, extra-curricular teacher and arts cultures teacher, questionnaire for the choose as the dance demonstrator, research documentation in the forms of written, spoken, pictures, recording or visual audio. Data validation is conducted through triangulation source, technique and time in order to produce the data in the forms of process and effect of the learning of education choreography. The results and the discussion of the research showed that main components in the implementation of teaching and learning process is included the objectives of learning process based on the curriculum in which expressed some local songs that has been selected based on the results of education choreography art creation as the learning material by the instructor or teacher to teach students using scientific approach learning strategies through audio visual learning media, internet, and laptop. The next steps were the evaluation of student’s learning results. There were two factors that has been influenced learning process those were internal factor which is physical strengths, psychologies and fatigue while external factors were family, school, society and about the researcher’s contribution with SMP Negeri 40 Surabaya.
The positive effects of the change in improvements in the characters moral value to the students in the learning process of education of the art creations choreography can be conclude as the good influences that has been discovered in the learning process were create and change student’s characters to become more confident, active, can control their emotions, respect their friends, respects the older people and also having politeness, can enhance student’s knowledge, experience, enhance student’s score in the arts and cultures leaning subject. The character values were prioritizing honesty, discipline, independent, friendly and responsibility. The negative effects were students did a lots of activities in the school in which needed time addition for the students to train themselves and students had to memorizing local songs and their dance movements.
