The Effect of Teacher's Communication Skills on Students' Learning Motivation at SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong Using the Cooperative Learning Model

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan berkomunikasi guru terhadap motivasi belajar siswa SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong kelas VIII. Faktor keterampilan berkomunikasi guru dan motivasi belajar siswa yang diteliti merujuk pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dinilai sesuai dengan karakteristik materi sistem pernapasan manusia dengan mempertimbangkan aspek peran keterampilan berkomunikasi guru terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan metode observasi dan pengisian angket. Pengisian angket dilakukan dengan cara menyebarkan angket kepada siswa yang menjadi kelas contoh. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong kelas VIII. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 32 siswa di kelas VIII-1. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket keterampilan berkomunikasi guru berjumlah 11 butir pertanyaan, angket motivasi belajar siswa berjumlah 11 butir pertanyaan, dan lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data pada keterampilan berkomunikasi guru dan motivasi belajar siswa menggunakan nilai mean, pada keterlaksanaan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw menggunakan nilai modus dengan nilai terendah 3, dan pengaruh keterampilan berkomunikasi guru terhadap motivasi belajar siswa menggunakan korelasi product moment . Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 1 dawarblandong pada kategori tinggi dengan skor 9,34, keterampilan berkomunikasi guru IPA SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong menunjukkan kategori baik dengan skor 9,53, terdapat pengaruh keterampilan berkomunikasi guru dengan motivasi belajar siswa yang menunjukkan hubungan sangat kuat dengan koefisien hitung 0,86, dan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw terlaksana pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of teacher communication skills on the learning motivation of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong. The factors of teacher communication skills and student learning motivation studied refer to the jigsaw type cooperative learning model on the subject of the human respiratory system. The jigsaw type cooperative learning model is assessed according to the material characteristics of the human respiratory system by considering aspects of the role of the teacher's communication skills on student learning motivation. The type of research used is a quantitative descriptive approach using observation and filling out questionnaires. Filling out the questionnaire was done by distributing questionnaires to students who were sample classes. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong. The research subjects were 32 students in class VIII-1. The instrument used was a teacher's communication skills questionnaire totaling 11 questions, a student learning motivation questionnaire totaling 11 questions, and learning implementation sheets. The data analysis technique on teacher communication skills and student learning motivation used the mean value, the jigsaw type cooperative learning implementation used the mode value with the lowest score 3, and the effect of teacher communication skills on student learning motivation used product moment correlation. The results of this study are the learning motivation of class VIII-1 students of SMP Negeri 1 dawarblandong in the high category with a score of 9.34, the communication skills of science teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Dawarblandong show a good category with a score of 9.53, there is an influence of teacher communication skills on learning motivation students who show a very strong relationship with a count coefficient of 0.86, and the jigsaw type cooperative learning model implemented on the material of the human respiratory system.
