Indonesia adalah salah satu negara berpenduduk terpadat di dunia sehingga negara ini memiliki populasi penduduk dengan usia produktif. Namun Pulau Jawa memiliki beberapa provinsi dengan tingkat pengangguran yang bervariasi. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat pengangguran di Jawa seperti tingkat pendidikan, tingkat inevstasi, tingkat upah dan banyak faktor lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: 1) pengaruh pendidikan terhadap pengangguran di Jawa. 2) pengaruh penanaman modal dalam negeri terhadap pengangguran di Jawa. 3) pengaruh penanaman modal asing terhadap pengangguran di Jawa. dan 4) pengaruh pendidikan, penanaman modal dalam negeri dan penanaman modal asing secara simultan terhadap pengangguran di Jawa.
Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif. Data yang digunakan diperoleh dari BPS dan Kemdikbud. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah pendidikan, penanaman modal dalam negeri, penanaman modal asing dan pengangguran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi data panel dengan cross section 6 provinsi dan time series tahun 2013-2017.

Indonesia is one of the most populous countries in the world so that this country has a population of productive age. But Java has several provinces with varying unemployment rates. Many factors affect the unemployment rate in Java such as education level, investment level, wage rate and many other factors. This study aims to analyze: 1) the effect of education on unemployment in Java. 2) the effect of domestic investment on unemployment in Java. 3) the effect of foreign investment on unemployment in Java. and 4) the effect of education, domestic investment and simultaneous foreign investment on unemployment in Java. This study uses secondary data with a quantitative approach to the type of associative research. The data used was obtained from BPS and the Ministry of Education and Culture. The variables in this study are education, domestic investment, foreign investment and unemployment. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis with cross section 6 provinces and time series 2013-2017.
The results of data analysis show that domestic investment has an impact on reducing the number of unemployed people in Java, while education and foreign investment have no impact on reducing the number of unemployed people on Java. Simultaneously, education, domestic investment and foreign investment have an impact on the number of unemployment decreases. However, education, domestic investment and foreign investment are only able to explain 36.9% of the effect on reducing the number of unemployed people on the island of Java. The rest is influenced by factors outside the model that are not examined by the researcher.
