Code Switching and Code Mixing in WayV-log Youtube Videos

WayV-log merupakan vlog yang dibuat oleh salah satu boyband buatan Korea yang bernama WayV boyband tersebut berisikan tujuh anggota orang dari negara yang berbeda. Dalam proses komunikasi sehari-hari boyband WayV menggunakan tiga bahasa utama, yaitu bahasa Mandarin, Inggris, dan Korea. Karena penggunaan tiga bahasa utama yang berbeda, sehingga dalam proses komunikasi antar anggota WayV sangat sering melakukan pencampuran bahasa dari ketiga bahasa utama yang mereka gunakan. Tujuan skripsi ini yaitu 1) mendeskripsikan bentuk alih kode yang terdapat pada kumpulan video WayV-log, 2) mendeskripsikan bentuk campur kode yang terdapat pada kumpulan video keseharian WayV-log, dan 3) menemukan faktor yang menjadi penyebab mengapa anggota boyband WayV dalam proses komunikasi sehari-hari sering melakukan alih kode dan campur kode. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik metode simak dengan teknik bebas libat cakap dan catat. Hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu 1) bentuk alih kode yang dilakukan oleh anggota boyband WayV secara keseluruhan adalah alih kode ekstern, 2) bentuk campur kode yang dilakukan oleh anggota WayV secara keseluruhan adalah campur kode ekstern berupa kata, 3) faktor utama yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya alih kode dalam video youtube keseharian boyband WayV yang berjudul WayV-log ialah penuturnya sendiri yaitu anggota boyband WayV dan mitra tutur dari boyband WayV yang berkewarganegaraan Korea ataupun individu yang memiliki kemampuan dalam beberapa bahasa. Faktor terjadinya campur kode pada video keseharian youtube boyband WayV ialah identifikasi peranan.

WayV-log is a vlog created by a boy band made in Korea named WayV, the boy band consists of seven members from different countries. In the process of daily communication WayV uses three main languages, namely Mandarin, English and Korean. Due to the use of three different main languages, in the process of communication between WayV members, they often mix languages from the three main languages they use. The objectives of this thesis are 1) to describe the forms of code switching found in the WayV-log video collection, 2) to describe the code mixing forms contained in the WayV-log daily video collections and, 3) to find the factors that cause why members of the WayV boy band often perform code switching and code mixing. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method with a listening method technique with a free-involved speaking and note-taking technique. The research results obtained were 1) the form of code switching carried out by members of the WayV boy band as a whole was external code switching, 2) the form of code mixing carried out by WayV members as a whole was external word code mixing, 3) the main factors that caused code switching in the daily youtube video of the WayV boy band entitled WayV-log is its own speakers, namely members of the WayV boy band and speech partners of the WayV boy band who are Korean nationals or individuals who have proficiency in several languages. Meanwhile, the factor causing the occurrence of code-mixing in the daily YouTube video of Boyband WayV is the identification of roles.
