Analysis of the Effectiveness of Educational Comics on Increasing Students' Concept Understanding

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan komik edukasi terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi energi terbarukan. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian Intack Group Comparison. Penelitian dilakukan di SMPN 2 Perak dengan sampel penelitian terdapat 2 kelas yaitu kelas VII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan komik edukasi sebagai media pembelajaran. Data nilai pre-test dan post-test kemudian dianalisis untuk mendapatkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan keterlaksaan pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis pemahaman konsep siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 86% termasuk kategori tinggi. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 11% termasuk kategori rendah. Dengan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa komik edukasi sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa

This research objective was to determine the effectiveness of educational comics to increasing students' conceptual understanding on renewable energy materials. The type of research conducted is quantitative research with Intack Group Comparison research design. The research was conducted at SMPN 2 Perak with the research sample consisting of 2 classes, namely class VII-A as the experimental class and class VII-B as the control class. The data collection method used is the test method given before and after the implementation of educational comics as learning media. The pre-test and post-test score data were then analyzed to get an increase in students' conceptual understanding. The results showed that the implementation of learning in the experimental class was better than the control class. The results of the analysis of students' conceptual understanding in the experimental class were 86%, including the high category. While in the control class, 11% is in the low category. With the results of this study, it can be concluded that educational comics are very effective in increasing students' understanding of concepts
