Hydration is one of the components is very important to the performance of athletes, because athletes do more physical activity than the ordinary person. If an athlete is dehydrated the athlete will tire easily, have difficulty concentrating and can cause injury. The aim of the study is to provide a reference for coaches and athletes to know the importance of adequate body fluids during training and competition and also as teaching material to improve performance. The research approach method uses descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques obtained from urine tests, interviews, and multiple choice questions given to the subject. The research subjects were 10 athletes consisting of five male athletes and five female athletes of pencak silat with a maximum age criteria of 18 years. This research was only conducted once to collect data on the same place and day. Technique of data analysis using mean, standard deviation, percentage, graph, normality, and different test Paired Sample T Test to find out the significant difference. The conclusion of this study shows that the average knowledge of athletes about hydration in the group is sufficient and there is a significant difference (Sig. <0.05) between the average hydration before and after training in martial arts athletes in Madiun Regency.
