Abstract
Folklore comics are
sequential image media that form a series of folktales using short
conversations on text balloons. The development of folklore comic media can
assist students in writing fiction. This comic is made with illustrations
according to characters and interesting storylines and there are short
conversations on text balloons that can help students to understand the
contents of the story, so students can rewrite the story in the comic in their
language. This folklore comic media contains 1 folklore namely "Origins
Reyog Ponorogo". The purpose of this study was to determine the process of
developing folklore comic media and testing the quality of folklore comic media
for the skills of writing fiction for grade IV elementary school students.
This type of
research is research or development called Research and Development (R&D)
using the ADDIE model. The ADDIE stages are as follows: (1)Analysis, (2)
Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The test
subjects were students and class IV SDN 5 Mrayan and SDN 4 Baosan Lor Ponorogo.
Data collection instruments used were media validation sheets, material
validation sheets, teacher and student questionnaire sheets. The data analysis
technique used is quantitative analysis, in the form of validation data,
teacher and student questionnaire results data.
Based on the data
collection instruments, the results of the study showed that the folklore comic
media was very valid with a percentage of 92.65% of the media validator and
81.94% of the material validator. At the time of the trial, it was found that
folklore comics were very suitable to be used for writing fiction stories by
getting a percentage of 100% from the observer. The results of student
questionnaire sheets at the stage of small group trials and large group trials
with each percentage of 92.85% and 92%.
