Tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki dalam paguyuban seni Sari Budoyo di Desa Beji Kecamatan Boyolangu Kabupaten Tulungagung mempunyai ciri yang unik yaitu pada struktur penyajiannya yakni memasukan unsur lawakan di dalam pertujukan Tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki berawal dari perkumpulan para seniman muda dari berbagi paguyuan seni di Tulungagung salah satunya yaitu paguyuban seni sari budoyo yang bergabung untuk berbincang bincang kemudian salah satu seniman menerima tawaran tanggapan Jaranan dan salah satu menerima tanggapan ngelawak di acara yang sama yaitu di Kediri dan seniman yang lain datang untuk saling membantu dan menyemangati namun pada hari saat akan tampil salah satu teman yang di ajak tanggapan jaranan berhalangan hadir karena ada kegiatan mendadak yang sangat penting akhirnya seniman yang hanya ikut untuk menyemangati diminta untuk menggantikan Karena sangat mendadak dan belum berlatih mereka memutuskan untuk membawakan jaranan yang biasa mereka tampilkan dan gerakan yang pernah dilatihkan bersama karena mereka tahu bahwa jarananya tidak terlalu kompak maka mereka memanipulasinya dengan memasukan unsur lawakan di dalam jaranan tersebut agar penonton tidak mengetahui bahwa ternyata bukan tarian jaranan itu yang mereka akan bawakan Di awal tahun 2013 nama Jaranan Turonggo Jengki di resmikan karena para seniman jaranan ingin lebih dikenal di semua kalangan dan ntuk menampung para generasi muda yang berjiwa seni tinggi dan sadar akan pelestarian kebudayaan maka dibentuklah komunitas tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki yang diprakarsai oleh Amit Bagus Prasetyo penati dr paguyuban seni sari budoyo Pada kesempatan inilah peneliti ingin mengkaji lebih jauh mengenai Bentuk dan Fungsi Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitiannya yaitu tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki Desa Beji Kecamatan Boyolangu Kabupeten Tulungagung dan objek penelitiannya bentuk dan fungsi tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori Bentuk oleh Soedarsono 1978 21 36 Teori Fungsi Soedarsono 2002 123 Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif teknik pengumpulan data observasi wawancara dan dokumentasi Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan dan validitas data menggunakan triangulasi sumber metode dan waktu Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Bentuk Penyajian Tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki Dalam Paguyuban Seni Sari budoyo Di Kabupaten Tulungagung Jawa Timur mempunyai keunikan khusus yaitu pada bentuk penyajian yakni pertunjukan dengan menggabungkan antara kesenian jaranan dengan lawakan Hal ini mengakibatkan jaranan ini berbeda dengan jaranan yang lainnya yang hanya menyajikan tarian saja Dalam penelitian ini bentuk yang dimaksud adalah perwujudan yang diartikan sebagai hasil dari berbagai elemen tari dimana secara bersama-sama elemen itu menyatu dalam pertunjukan tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki Elemen-elemen pada tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki yaitu gerak pola lantai iringan tata rias tata busana tempat pertunjukan dan properti Berdasarkan fungsi tari Jaranan Turonggo Jengki yang bersifat kerakyatan memiliki dua fungsi yaitu fungsi primer dan sekunder fungsi primer adalah sebagai media hiburan Fungsi yang kedua yaitu fungsi sekunder yang terdiri sebagai pengikat dan pembangkit rasa solidaritas media komunikasi dan sarana kebutuhan ekonomi
