SMAN 5 Madiun merupakan salah satu sekolah di kota Madiun yang memiliki banyak prestasi dalam bidang seni budaya terutama seni tari. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa SMAN 5 Madiun memiliki kemampuan menari bagus, salah satunya tari Gembrung Kibar. Metode yang digunakan oleh guru yaitu metode tutor sebaya. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk Menganalisis latar belakang SMAN 5 Madiun memilih tari Gembrung Kibar sebagai materi pembelajaran Seni Tari dan mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran tari Gembrung Kibar dengan metode tutor sebaya.

Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Dengan subjek siswa kelas XI MIPA 4 SMAN 5 Madiun, dan objek dari penelitian ini adalah metode pembelajaran tutor sebaya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan sistem reduksi, penyajian data, dan verifikasi.

Pelaksanaan metode tutor sebaya dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap, siswa diminta untuk berkelompok, dalam satu kelompok dibagai menjadi dua peran yaitu satu siswa ahli (tutor) dan lainnya sebagai murid atau yang menerima materi. Beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru yaitu karena adanya siswa yang kurang merespon baik penerapan metode tutor sebaya sehingga pembelajaran tidak bisa secara maksimal. Kendala yang dihadapi siswa yaitu saat melakukan apresiasi terhadap kelompok lain, siswa kurang memahami bahan yang akan diapresiasi.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa SMAN 5 Madiun merupakan satu-satunya SMA di kota Madiun yang menjadi penyelenggara pelestarian kesenian daerah setempat yaitu tari Gembrung Kibar. Tari Gembrung Kibar disampaikan kepada siswa menggunakan metode tutor sebaya. Pratik Seni Tari lebih efektif menggunakan metode tutor sebaya, karena siswa lebih leluasa berinteraksi antar teman. Metode tutor sebaya digunakan sebagai cara untuk melestarikan dan meningkatkan kemampuan menari siswa pada tari Gembrung Kibar.

SMAN 5 Madiun is one of the school in the city of Madiun that has many achievement in the field of cultural art, especially dance. This is beacause students of SMAN 5 Madiun have good dancing skill, one of them is the Gembrung Kibar dance. The method who used by the teacher is peer theaching method. The purpose of this study is to analyze the background of SMAN 5 Madiun chose the Gembrung Kibar dance as dance learning materia and describe the learning process of the Gembrung Kibar dance using the peer teaching method.

The result use a qualitative approach. With the subject of class XI MIPA 4 students of SMAN 5 Madiun, and the object of this research the peer teaching a learn method. The technique of collecting documen use observation and interviews. Analysis use reduction, presentation, and verification.

The implementation of peer teaching method is carried out in several stage, students are asked to group, in one group divide into two roles, one expert student (teacher) and the otherr as a student or who receive the material. Some they problem face worth teachers are because there are students who do not respond well to the applecation of peer teaching method so that learning cannot be maximised. The problem faced with students is that when appreciating other groups, the student not know understand the material that will be appreciated.

Based on the results of these studies it can be conclud that SMAN 5 Madiun is the only high school in the city of Madiun which is the organizer of preservation art of Gembrung Kibar dance. Gembrung Kibar dance is delivered to student used the peer teaching method. Practic dance is more effective used peer teaching method, because the student are mare free to interact between this friend. Peer teaching method are used as a way to preserve and improve student dance skill of Gembrung Kibar dance.
