Lagu “Circus” ini sesuai dengan lirik lagunya menjelaskan tentang adanya dua tipe manusia di muka Bumi, tipe penghibur dan tipe penonton. Di samping itu, lagu ini juga menceritakan bagaimana rasanya menjadi seorang aktris yang berada di tengah panggung dan semua mata tertuju kepadanya yang seolah seperti sedang menampilkan sebuah pertunjukan sirkus. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk menganilisis bentuk musik pada lagu “Circus” karya Britney Spears aransemen Dirty Loops. (2) Untuk menganalisis progresi akord pada lagu “Circus” karya Britney Spears oleh Dirty Loops. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif analisis. Lokasi penelitian di rumah peneliti, di perpustakaan jurusan Sendratasik FBS UNESA, dan di salah satu ruang guru di SMKN 12 Surabaya, dengan objek penelitian lagu “Circus” karya Britney Spears yang diaransemen ulang oleh Dirty Loops. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu studi pustaka dan observasi, teknik analisis data yang digunakan antara lain ilmu bentuk musik dan ilmu harmoni, penyajian data teks yang naratif, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat diketahui bahwa (1) Bentuk musik pada kedua versi sebenarnya tidak jauh berbeda, hanya pengemasannya saja yang berbeda. (2) Untuk progresi akord pada kedua versi ini juga memiliki pattern yang sama antar-bagiannya di masing-masing versi.

Beside that, this song tells about how it feels to be an actress who is in the middle of the stage and all eyes are on her as if like she was performing a circus show. The purpose of this research is (1) To analyze the form of music on the song “Circus” by Britney Spears, which rearranged by Dirty Loops. (2) To analyze chord progressions on the song “Circus” by Britney Spears, which rearranged by Dirty Loops. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis research. The location of the research were at the researcher’s domicile, in the library of the UNESA’s Sendratasik FBS department, and in one of the teacher’s room at SMKN 12 Surabaya, with the research object is “Circus” song by Britney Spears, rearranged by Dirty Loops. Technical of collection data used literature study and observation, technical of analysis data used the form of music and the theory of harmony, narrative text data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification.

Based on the results of this research, it can be seen that (1) The form of music in the two versions is actually not much different, only the packaging is different. (2) For chord progressions in both versions it also has the same pattern between parts in each version.
