Keterampilan membaca pemahaman merupakan kemampuan fundamental yang sangat penting bagi keberhasilan akademik peserta didik, khususnya bagi anak tunarungu yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam menerima informasi secara auditorial. Keterbatasan tersebut berdampak pada perkembangan bahasa, kosakata, dan pemahaman struktur teks, sehingga anak tunarungu sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami isi bacaan secara utuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan serta menguji efektivitas media Sequence digital dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman anak tunarungu.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa tunarungu pada jenjang sekolah luar biasa. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, angket validasi ahli, angket kepraktisan, serta tes membaca pemahaman (pretest dan posttest). Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media Sequence digital memiliki tingkat validitas yang sangat baik berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, bahasa, dan desain media. Media ini juga dinilai praktis digunakan oleh guru dan siswa. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah menggunakan media Sequence digital.
Dengan demikian, media Sequence digital dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran membaca pemahaman bagi anak tunarungu.

Reading comprehension skills are fundamental skills that are very important for the academic success of students, especially for deaf children who have limitations in receiving information auditorily. These limitations impact the development of language, vocabulary, and understanding of text structure, so that deaf children often have difficulty in understanding the content of reading as a whole. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of digital Sequence media in improving the reading comprehension skills of deaf children.
This study uses a research and development approach with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the study were deaf students at the special education level. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, expert validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and reading comprehension tests (pretest and posttest). Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that digital Sequence media has a very good level of validity based on the assessment of material, language, and media design experts. This media is also considered practical to use by teachers and students. The effectiveness test showed a significant increase in students’ reading comprehension skills after using digital Sequence media.
Thus, digital sequence media is declared valid, practical, and effective as an alternative learning medium for reading comprehension for deaf children.
