Implementasi Telemetri Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Berbasis Jaringan Selular Untuk Monitoring Ground Control Station (GCS)

Implementation Of Mobile Network-Based Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Telemetry for Ground Control Station (GCS) Monitoring  

Penelitian ini berfokus pada telemetri Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) berbasis jaringan seluler yang digunakan untuk memonitoring Ground Control Station (GCS) pada divisi Long Endurance Low Altitute (LELA) Kontes Robot Terbang Indonesia (KRTI). Tantangan pada divisi Long Endurance Low Altitute (LELA), yaitu Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) terbang dengan jarak yang jauh dan komunikasi antar Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) dengan Ground Control Station (GCS) tidak boleh terputus. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan sistem kerja telemetri jaringan seluler yang kemudian nilai dari Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) pada Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) dibandingkan saat keadaan aerial dan land. Elektrikal dari penelitian ini melibatkan Pixhawk dan RaspberryPi3 sebagai mikrokontroller dari Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Pengujian Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) menunjukkan kekuatan sinyal yang diterima dalam keadaan aerial sejauh 500 meter dengan ketinggian 100 meter dari permukaan adalah sebesar -61 dBm dan Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) dalam keadaan land menunjukkan hasil Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) sebesar -39 dBm. Nilai Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) saat keadaan aerial dan land menunjukkan sinyal tergolong sangat bagus untuk menerima dan mengirim data. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah telemetri jaringan seluler efektif digunakan dalam jangkauan yang jauh, telemetri jaringan seluler ini diharapkan dapat memudahkan mengirim dan menerima data untuk segala jenis Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

This research focuses on telemetry of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) based on cellular networks used to monitor the Ground Control Station (GCS) in the Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA) division of the Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI). The challenge in the Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA) division, namely Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) flying long distances and communication between Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Ground Control Station (GCS) must not be interrupted. The method used in this study is an experimental method. This study aims to implement a cellular network telemetry work system which then the value of the Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) on the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is compared to the aerial and land conditions. The electrical of this study involves Pixhawk and RaspberryPi3 as microcontrollers of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The received strength signal indicator (RSSI) test shows that the strength of the signal received in the aerial state as far as 500 meters with an altitude of 100 meters from the surface is -61 dBm and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in the land state shows the result of the Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) of -39 dBm. The value of the Received Strength Signal Indicator (RSSI) during aerial and land conditions indicates that the signal is very good for receiving and sending data. The conclusion of this study is that mobile network telemetry is effectively used in long ranges, this mobile network telemetry is expected to make it easier to send and receive data for all types of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
