Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children
under five resulting from chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short
for his age. Stunting cases in Sukoharjo Village, Wilangan District, Nganjuk
Regency reached 23.3%. This study aims to determine the relationship between
the level of nutritional knowledge, parenting patterns and sanitation with the
incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 2-5 years in Sukoharjo Village, Wilangan
District, Nganjuk Regency.
This research is a correlational study with a cross
sectional design. Respondents were 80 mothers of toddlers. Data on nutritional
knowledge was obtained through a nutritional knowledge test, data on eating patterns
was obtained using a questionnaire, and sanitation using a questionnaire. The
stunting or normal status of toddlers is measured using the TB/U index. The
variable relationship analysis technique uses the chi square test.
The results of the research show: (1) there is a
significant relationship between nutritional knowledge and the incidence of
stunting, (2) there is a significant relationship between parenting patterns
and the incidence of stunting, and (3) there is a significant relationship between
sanitation and the incidence of stunting among toddlers in the village.
