Behavior Patterns of Ornamental Plant Fans During the Covid-19 Pandemic
Menanam tanaman hias menjadi suatu hobi hingga tren baru dimasa pandemi Covid-19. Tanaman hias yang menjadi primadona hingga sekarang adalah monstera karena jenisnya yang beragam dan keunikan daunnya. Tanaman hias monstera menjadi simbol prestise bagi masyarakat disebabkan harganya yang mahal. Perilaku konsumtif terjadi apabila pembelian tanaman hias monstera tidak diimbangi dengan budgeting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pola konsumsi penggemar tanaman hias monstera. Menggunakan teori konsumsi dari Jean Baudrillard. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penggemar tanaman hias monstera di Perumahan Taman Pinang berada pada kondisi ekonomi menengah keatas. Dibuktikan dari pekerjaan, kondisi rumah, hingga perekonomian subjek yang tetap stabil pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Motif membeli dan mengoleksi tanaman hias monstera didasarkan pada hobi, kesenangan, dan kepuasan. Pola konsumsi penggemar tanaman hias monstera dari mengonsumsi objek menjadi mengonsumsi tanda. Merawat tanaman hias monstera sebagai sarana penghilang stres dan memperindah rumah beralih ke simbol prestise dan penentu status sosial ekonomi masyarakat di Perumahan Taman Pinang. Dampak dari kebosanan yang timbul pada masa pandemi Covid-19 dan pengaruh teman menjadi perilaku komsumsi. Merawat tanaman hias monstera karena tren menjadikan penggemar tidak benar-benar mengerti ilmu tentang merawat tanaman hias monstera.

Planting ornamental plants has become a hobby and a new trend during the Covid-19 pandemic. The ornamental plant that has been the prima donna until now is monstera because of its various types and unique leaves. The monstera ornamental plant is a symbol of prestige for the community due to its high price. Consumptive behavior occurs when the purchase of monstera ornamental plants is not balanced with budgeting. The purpose of this study was to analyze the consumption patterns of monstera ornamental plant fans. Using consumption theory from Jean Baudrillard. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study stated that fans of monstera ornamental plants in Taman Pinang Housing were in middle and upper economic conditions. Evidenced by work, home conditions, to the subject's economy which remained stable during the Covid-19 pandemic. Motives for buying and collecting monstera ornamental plants are based on hobbies, pleasure, and satisfaction. The consumption patterns of fans of monstera ornamental plants range from consuming objects to consuming signs. Caring for monstera ornamental plants as a means of relieving stress and beautifying the house has turned to a symbol of prestige and a determinant of the socio-economic status of the people in Taman Pinang Housing. The impact of the boredom that arose during the Covid-19 pandemic and the influence of friends became consumption behavior. Caring for monstera ornamental plants because of trends makes fans not really understand the science of caring for monstera ornamental plants.
