Analisis Ilustrasi Extinction dan Hope pada Kaos Hitam Customfest 2022 Kajian Semiotika Charles Pierce

Ilustrasi adalah hasil visualisasi dari tulisan dengan menggunakan teknik gambar, lukis, fotografi, atau teknik seni rupa lainnya yang lebih menekankan pada hubungan subjek dengan tulisan. Penelitian ini mengilustrasikan karya Zulfaili Yahya. Karya Zulfaili yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah karya illustrasi yang berjudul Extinction dan Hope. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tanda dan makna dalam illustrasi Extinction dan Hope. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Teori Charles S. Pierce. Cara analisis ilustrasi ini dengan triangle meaning yaitu tanda, objek, interpretan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif milik Sugiyono dengan penyajian tabel dan deskripsi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ilustrasi Extinction dan Hope adalah sebagai bentuk kepedulian ilsutrator, yaitu Zulfaili Yahya terhadap lingkungan yang terus diekploitasi. Hasil lain yang didapatkan bahwa ilustrator ingin mengkritik tentang lambatnya transformasi teknologi khususnya ketergantungan akan minyak bumi ke era listrik.

Illustration is the result of visualization of writing using drawing, painting, photography or other art techniques that place greater emphasis on the relationship between the subject and the writing. This research illustrates Zulfaili Yahya's work. Zulfaili's work examined in this study is an illustration work entitled Extinction and Hope. The aim of this research is to know the signs and meanings in the illustrations of Extinction and Hope. This study uses the Charles S. Pierce Theory approach. How to analyze this illustration with the triangle meaning, namely sign, object, interpretant. The method used in this study is Sugiyono's qualitative method with the presentation of tables and descriptions. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the illustration of Extinction and Hope is a form of concern for the illustrator, namely Zulfaili Yahya, for the environment which continues to be exploited. Another result obtained is that the illustrator wants to criticize the slow pace of technological transformation, especially the dependence on petroleum to the electricity era.
