    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kata berateji menurut teori Shirose dan Itou yang terdapat pada komik Detective Conan volume 71, 72, 94, dan 95. Ateji merupakan kata yang terkadang ditulis tidak mengikuti cara baca onyomi, kunyomi dan arti asli dari kanji tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data diambil dari Detective Conan volume 71, 72, 94, dan 95 dan datanya berupa kata berateji. Data diambil dengan metode observasi, selanjutnya data akan dianalisis dengan teknik pilah unsur penentu dan disajikan dengan metode informal. Hasil penelitian mengenai karakteristik pada jenis kata berateji yaitu berdasarkan teori Shirose karakteristik pada jenis ateji memiliki ciri di mana ateji dapat mengalami perubahan bunyi, perpendekan bunyi, persamaan dan perubahan arti dengan jukugo. Sedangkan bedasarkan teori Itou karakteristik pada jenis ateji dapat berupa peminjaman bunyi dari kanji, perpendekan bunyi, persamaan dan perubahan arti dengan jukugo. Selain itu dalam teori Itou, juga ditemukan ateji yang salah satu karakter kanji pada jukugonya saja yang berubah namun memiliki makna dan cara baca yang sama antara ateji dengan jukugo.

ABSTRACT

    This study aims to determine the types of atji words according to Shirose and Itou's theory found in Detective Conan comics volumes 71, 72, 94, and 95. Ateji is a word that is sometimes written not following the reading method of onyomi, kunyomi and the original meaning of the kanji. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data sources are taken from Detective Conan volumes 71, 72, 94, and 95 and the data are words that have ateji. The data is taken by observation method, then the data will be analyzed by the technique of sorting the determining elements and presented by informal method. The results of the research on the characteristics of the type of ateji words are based on Shirose's theory, the characteristics of the type of ateji have characteristics where ateji can experience changes in sound, shortening of sound, similarities and changes in meaning with jukugo. While based on Itou's theory, the characteristics of ateji types can be in the form of borrowing sounds from kanji, shortening sounds, similarities and changes in meaning with jukugo. In addition, in Itou's theory, it is also found that ateji only changes one of the kanji characters in the jukugo but has the same meaning and reading method between ateji and jukugo.
