This research aims to produced sains teaching material through guided
inquiry model which is
valid, practical, and effective to train the students’ multiple of
representation skills and improving physics knowledge in vocational high
school. The development
of teaching material used the Kemp model and was tested in class X TKJ 1 dan X TKJ 2 SMK Wahid Hasyim Glagah
Lamongan in even semester academic year 2018/2019 on the subject of heat by using the Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design . The data collection used validation, observation,
tets, and quetionnaires. The results of this research are:1) Teaching material
developed of syllabus is very valid categorized with 91,33% reliability, learning package is very valid categorized with 92,78% reliability, worksheet is very valid categorized with 90,76% reliability, multi representation test
instruments a re highly valid categorized with 86,30% reliability, physics knowledge test instruments a re highly valid categorized with 98,21% reliability ; 2) The practicality of teaching material in terms of a
good category in feasibility of lesson
plansand the students’ activities in accordance with steps of guided inquiry
model with 9 7 , 01 %
reliability and student activity in accordance with the stages in guided
inquiry model with a prominent student activity was conducting experiment ; 3) The effectiveness of teaching material, c an be reviewed by : (a) Improving students’ multiple
representations skills produced N-Gain score 0,895 with high category ; (b) Improving students’ physics knowledge produced N-Gain score 0,90 with high category ; and (c) The students’ responds toward material and
implementation of learning are
very positive. The results of this study a guided inquiry learning device that is valid, practical, and effective to train the students’
multiple representation skills and improving physics knowledge in vocational
high school.
