Deiksis di Petualangan Sherlock Holmes

DEIXIS IN THE ADVENTURE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES

Faktanya, pembaca terkadang sulit memahami apa yang penulis katakan tentang tafsir pesan. Situasi ini bisa membuat masalah kesalahpahaman. Deiksis membantu membuat pemahaman yang jelas tentang interpretasi cerita. Penelitian yang berjudul “Deiksis di Petualangan Sherlock Holmes”, memiliki rumusan masalah seperti apa deiksis dan interpretasi dari deiksis tersebut yang terdapat dalam Petualangan Sherlock Holmes menurut teori deixis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis deiksis yang digunakan dalam cerpen Petualangan Sherlock Holmes karya Sir Athur Conan Dolye dan apa tafsir dari deiksis tersebut dalam Petualangan Sherlock Holmes menurut teori deixis.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah cerpen "Petualangan Sherlock Holmes ". Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Landasan teori yang digunakan adalah teori deiksis menurut Levinson.

Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa 1) Terdapat empat jenis deiksis yang terdapat dalam The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes, yaitu deiksis waktu, deiksis persona, deiksis sosial, dan deiksis persona. 2) Deiksis yang paling dominan dalam cerita pendek The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes adalah deiksis sosial.

The fact, the reader sometimes difficult to understand about what the writer say about the interpretation of message. This situation can make the problem of misunderstanding. Deixis helps  make clear understanding about the interpretation of the story. The research entitled "Deixis In The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes", has a problem formulation what types of deixis and what the interpretations of those deixis found in The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes by deixis theory.  The purpose of this research are  to figure out what kinds of deixis are used  in The Adventure Of Sherlock Holmesshort story by Sir Athur Conan Dolye and what the interpretations of those deixis found in The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes by deixis theory.

This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data source used is the short story of "The Adventure Of Sherlock Holmes". The data will be analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The theoretical basis used is theory of deixis by Levinson.

Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that        1) there are four types of deixis found in The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes, namely,  time deixis, person deixis, social deixis, and person deixis. 2)the most dominant deixis in The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes short story is social deixis.
