Kasus kekerasan masih sering terjadi di lingkungan instansi pendidikan. Salah satunya kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh guru kepada peserta didik melalui pemberian hukuman. Pemberian hukuman dengan tujuan mendisiplinkan disebut corporal punishment. Pada beberapa kasus, corporal punishment menyebabkan guru dipidana. Pemidanaan guru memberikan pengaruh pada pertimbangan guru dalam mendisiplinkan peserta didik dengan kecenderungan takut untuk mendisiplinkan secara tegas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan persepsi guru SMP Negeri 1 Jabon tentang pemidanaan guru sebagai dampak penggunaan corporal punishment dalam pendidikan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Jabon dengan alamat Jl. Dukuhsari no.1, RT 11 RW 3 Dukuhsari Kecamatan Jabon Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru SMP Negeri 1 Jabon yang berjumlah empat puluh sembilan orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket. Uji coba angket dilakukan dengan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik persentase.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru SMP Negeri 1 Jabon cukup setuju dengan pemidanaan guru sebagai dampak penggunaan corporal punishment dalam pendidikan. Batasan-batasan corporal punishment yang dianggap melawan hukum bersifat variatif. Corporal punishment masih dibutuhkan dalam keadaan tertentu dengan maksud mendidik. Pemidanaan guru tidak mengurangi semangat mendidik, namun memunculkan perasaan cemas untuk menangani pelanggaran peserta didik dengan corporal punishment.

Cases of violence still occur frequently in educational institutions. One of them is the violence carried out by the teacher to students through punishment. Giving punishment with the aim of disciplining is called corporal punishment. In some cases, corporal punishment causes teachers to be punished. Teacher sentencing gives an influence on the teacher's consideration in disciplining students with a tendency to be afraid to discipline explicitly. The purpose of this research was to describe the perceptions of teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Jabon about teacher sentencing as the impact of the use of corporal punishment in education.
This research uses quantitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The location of the research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Jabon with the address Jl. Dukuhsari no.1, RT 11 RW 3 Dukuhsari Jabon District, Sidoarjo Regency. The sample in this research were all teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Jabon, amounting to forty-nine people. The technique of data collection is done by questionnaire. The questionnaire trial was conducted by validity and reliability testing. The data analysis technique in this research uses percentage techniques.
The results showed that the teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Jabon were quite agree to the teacher sentencing as the impact of the use of corporal punishment in education. The limitations of corporal punishment that considered against the law are varied. Corporal punishment is still needed in certain circumstances to educate students. Teacher sentencing does not reduce the spirit of educating, but it creates anxious feelings to deal with violations of students using corporal punishment.
