PENERAPAN TEKNIK GRADASI
MENGGUNAKAN METODE DIRECT LEARNING PADA SISWA DI SMA NEGERI 12 SURABAYA

USING THE DIRECT LEARNING METHOD FOR STUDENTS IN PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL 12 SURABAYA
Salah satu materi Seni Budaya yang dipelajari untuk tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas adalah tentang seni rupa dua dimensi. Agar dapat menghasilkan karya yang dapat diterima seniman perlu memahami unsur-unsur dasar seni rupa dua dimensi yaitu titik garis, bidang, bentuk, ruang,warna, tekstur, dan gelap terang atau gradasi. Namun dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan, siswa kelas X 9 SMA Negeri Surabaya belum memahami salah satu unsur yang penting dalam pembuatan karya seni rupa dua dimensi yaitu gradasi atau gelap terang. Dari masalah tersebut peneliti melakukan penerapan teknik gradasi menggunakan metode direct learning atau pembelajaran langsung. penelitian ini bertunjuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik gradasi menggunakan metode direct learning pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. (2) Mendeskripsikan hasil karya dari penerapan teknik gradasi menggunakan metode direct learning pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. (3) Mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan respon siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya terhadap penerapan teknik gradasi menggunakan metode direct learning. Penilitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data yang diambil dari hasil observasi, kuisioner dan wawancara. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh 1) siswa mengikuti serangkaian pembelajaran teknik gradasi dengan mengunakan metode direct learning yang dilaksanakan dengan 5 tahap yaitu penyampaianiitujuan, mendemonstrasikan pengetahuan, membimbing pelatihan, mengecekipemahaman daniumpan balik, pelatihan lanjutanidan penerapan. 2) Hasil karya siswa dengan penerapan teknik gradasi terbilang baik dengan adanya peningkatan dari rata-rata nilai 62,7 menjadi 78,5. 3) dari hasil kuisioner yang dibagikan diperoleh 80% siswa merasa lebih mudah menerima dan menerapkan gradasi dengan metode direct learning.

One of the cultural arts materials studied for the senior high school level is about two-dimensional art. In order to produce works that are acceptable to artists, they need to understand the basic elements of two-dimensional art, namely point lines, planes, shapes, space, color, texture, and darkness or gradation. However, from the results of observations made, students in class X 9 of SMA Negeri Surabaya did not understand one of the important elements in making two-dimensional works of art, namely gradation or light and dark. Based on this problem, the researcher applied the gradation technique using the direct learning method or direct learning. This study aims to (1) describe the application of the gradation technique using the direct learning method to class X students of SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. (2) Describe the results of the application of the gradation technique using the direct learning method for class X students of SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. (3) Knowing and describing the response of class X students of SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya to the application of the gradation technique using the direct learning method. For data collection researchers used observation, questionnaires and interviews. From the results of the research conducted, it was obtained 1) students took part in a series of gradient learning techniques using the direct learning method which was carried out in 5 stages, namely conveying goals, demonstrating knowledge, guiding training, checking understanding and feedback, continuing training and application. 2) The results of student work with the application of the gradation technique are fairly good with an increase from the average value of 62.7 to 78.5. 3) from the results of the questionnaires distributed, it was found that 80% of students found it easier to accept and apply gradations with the direct learning method.
