Digital Simulation is one of the subjects in the
Classical Music Department at SMK Negeri 12 Surabaya. The Digital Simulation
subject focuses on learning music arrangement writing using the Sibelius
software. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a form of instruction where the
emphasis is on students independently constructing and applying concepts
through projects. It involves exploration and problem-solving within topics
relevant to the real life. The use of Sibelius in digital simulation education
can provide significant benefits to students, particularly in creating music,
especially in orchestrating notations. It creates a valuable experience for
students in the implementation of 21st-century learning by effectively
integrating technology throughout the learning process.
This research
employs a qualitative research method. The subjects of this study are students
from class XI - Classical Music 1 at SMK Negeri 12 Surabaya, and the object of the
research is digital simulation learning using the Sibelius software. This
research is conducted at SMK Negeri 12 Surabaya. The study utilizes primary
data sources obtained through interviews with the informants and secondary data
sources derived from photographs, recordings, and videos. This research employs
data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation.
In data analysis, the techniques used include data reduction, data
presentation, drawing conclusions, data validity, and data triangulation.
Based on the
research conducted by the researcher on the Implementation of Digital
Simulation Lessons Using Sibelius in the Classical Music epartment at
SMK Negeri 12 Surabaya, it can be concluded that Sibelius is highly compatible
with digital simulation learning. This is because the learning process adopts
the Project-Based Learning instructional model, where the focus is on students
through project creations made using Sibelius. The accuracy of teachers in
integrating Sibelius as a learning tool and the Project-Based Learning
instructional model can effectively train students in composing, creating, and
presenting artistic projects using Sibelius.
