PERAN GURU MELALUI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER ISLAMI DALAM MENINGKATKAN SOCIAL SENSITIVITY ANAK USIA DINI DI KELOMPOK BERMAIN (KB) DURRATUL YATIMAH SIDOARJO
THE ROLE OF TEACHERS THROUGH ISLAMIC CHARACTER EDUCATION IN IMPROVING THE SOCIAL SENSITIVITY OF EARLY CHILDHOOD IN THE DURRATUL YATIMAH PLAYGROUP (KB) IN SIDOARJO
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran guru melalui pendidikan karakter Islami dalam meningkatkan social sensitivity pada anak usia dini di KB Durratul Yatimah Sidoarjo. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tiga metode utama, yaitu: (1) wawancara mendalam dengan kepala KB, guru, dan orang tua peserta didik; (2) observasi langsung terhadap lingkungan sekitar KB, sarana dan prasarana, peran guru, perilaku anak, serta kegiatan pembelajaran yang berlangsung; dan (3) dokumentasi, meliputi laporan kegiatan pembelajaran, catatan perkembangan anak, aktivitas interaksi anak, serta dokumen pendukung lainnya. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap pengumpulan data, penyajian data, verifikasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki peran strategis dalam menumbuhkan social sensitivity pada anak usia dini. Selain berperan sebagai pendidik, guru juga berfungsi sebagai teladan, motivator, dan fasilitator. Penerapan nilai-nilai karakter Islami, seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kasih sayang, kerja sama, dan saling menghormati, terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepekaan sosial anak. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi sejumlah faktor pendukung, antara lain: keteladanan guru dalam menerapkan nilai-nilai Islami, keterlibatan aktif orang tua, lingkungan yang kondusif dan religius, sarana pembelajaran yang memadai, serta program pembiasaan yang terstruktur. Meskipun demikian, penerapan nilai-nilai tersebut masih menghadapi tantangan berupa faktor penghambat internal (dalam diri anak) dan eksternal (lingkungan sekitar anak).

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers through Islamic character education in enhancing social sensitivity among early childhood students at KB Durratul Yatimah Sidoarjo. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through three main methods: (1) in-depth interviews with the head of the institution, teachers, and parents of students; (2) direct observation of the school environment, facilities and infrastructure, teacher roles, children's behavior, and the learning activities conducted; and (3) documentation, including learning activity reports, child development records, interaction activities, and other supporting documents. Data analysis techniques included data collection, data presentation, verification, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers play a strategic role in developing social sensitivity in early childhood. In addition to acting as educators, teachers serve as role models, motivators, and facilitators. The implementation of Islamic character values such as honesty, responsibility, compassion, cooperation, and mutual respect has proven effective in fostering children's social sensitivity. The study also identified several supporting factors, including the exemplary behavior of teachers in applying Islamic values, active parental involvement, a conducive and religious environment, adequate learning facilities, and structured habituation programs. Nevertheless, challenges remain in the form of internal (within the child) and external (surrounding environment) inhibiting factors.
