Advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology have made significant contributions to education, especially in supporting the learning styles of Generation Z, which tend to be technology-based, visual, and interactive. This study aims to develop an AI-based instructional video to improve students' understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM), a subject known for its complexity. The study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research was conducted at SMKN 2 Bojonegoro, with 108 students from class X as the subjects, and 36 students as the sample.
Data were collected through validation by experts in content, media, and language, learning outcome tests, and student response questionnaires. The instruments used included closed-ended questionnaires to measure respondent opinions and tests to evaluate improvements in learning outcomes. Data analysis was performed descriptively by comparing pre-test and post-test results and calculating N-gain to measure learning progress. The validation results showed that the AI-based instructional video had a feasibility rate of 84.06% (categorized as Very Valid). The pilot test results indicated a significant increase in average student scores from 64.80 (pre-test) to 83.44 (post-test), with an N-gain of 0.74, showing a high improvement in learning outcomes.
The study concluded that the AI-based instructional video was effective in improving students' learning outcomes and aligned with their learning styles. Student feedback was very positive, with 88.5% stating that the video helped them understand BIM content. It is recommended that schools improve technological infrastructure, provide training for teachers, and integrate AI-based media into teaching to create a more interactive and relevant learning experience that meets students needs.
