Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan penerapan konseling kelompok dengan teknik role playing untuk mengendalikan emosi marah siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 3 Taman Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan eksperimen yakni pre exsperimental one group pretest post test. Dalam penelitian, peneliti menggunakan konseling kelompok teknik role playing dengan melibatkan siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 3 Taman Sidoarjo yang memiliki mengendalikan emosi marah rendah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis perhitungan angket mengendalikan emosi marah yang diberikan untuk menentukan subjek penelitian diperoleh 5 siswa yang memiliki skor mengendalikan emosi marah yang rendah. Kemudian diberikan perlakuan berupa konseling kelompok teknik role playing serta di akhir perlakuan diberikan post test. Berdasarkan hasil analisis test statistic uji wilcoxon dengan bantuan SPSS 22 diketahui Asymp. Sig. (2- tailed) bernilai 0,043. Sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penerapan konseling kelompok teknik role playing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengendalikan emosi marah siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Taman Sidoarjo.

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of group counseling with role playing technique to control emotions of anger eighth grade students in country junior high school 3 taman sidoarjo. This kind of study is quantitative study which use experimental method namely pre exsperimental one group pretest post test. In research, researchers use role playing group counseling by involving eighth grade students in junior high school 3 Taman Sidoarjo that has low anger control. Based on the results of computation calculations controlling the emotional rage given to determine the subject for research by five students the one with the score controls the low emotional rage. They were then given treatment of role playing group counseling and at the end of a post test. Based on analysis of the wilcoxon statistical test results with the help software package used for statistical analysis (SPSS) version 22 known Asymp. Sig. (2- tailed) value 0,043. So the conclusion that the appplication of group counseling role playing technique can increase the ability to control emotions of anger eighth grade students in country junior high school 3 taman sidoarjo.
