Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk, (1) menguji perbedaan hasil belajar programmable logic controller antara siswa yang mengikuti strategi problem based learning media mock up dan strategi problem based learning, (2) menguji perbedaan hasil belajar programmable logic controller antara taruna yang memiliki kemampuan awal tinggi dan rendah, (3) menguji pengaruh interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dengan kemampuan awal terhadap hasil belajar programmable logic controller.
Penelitian ini menggunakan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Subjek penelitian adalah Taruna Program Studi Teknik Listrik Bandara pada semester 3 di Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari Kelas TLB 11AB yang berjumlah 47 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen strategi problem based learning media mock up dan TLB 12AB yang berjumlah 46 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol strategi problem based learning. Data hasil belajar dikumpulkan dengan tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diolah dengan statistik dengan menggunakan teknik analisis varians (anava) dua jalur dengan menggunakan taraf signifikansi 0,05.
Data hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar programmable logic controller antara kelompok taruna yang belajar dengan strategi problem based learning media mock up dan problem based learning (Fhitung = 11,120 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,001), (2) ada perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar programmable logic controller antara kelompok taruna yang memiliki kemampuan awal tinggi dan rendah (Fhitung = 82.675 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,03), (3) tidak ada pengaruh interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal taruna terhadap hasil belajar programmable logic controller (Fhitung = 0.31 dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,861).

This research is intended for, (1) to examine the distinguished of programmable logic controller learning outcomes between those students who joint problem based learning media mock up and problem based learning strategy, (2) to examine the different learning outcomes of programmable logic controller between those cadets who have high and low initial ability, (3) to test the interaction influence between learning strategies with initial ability toward learning outcomes of programmable logic controller.
In this study was utilized factorial design 2 x 2 that the object of the research is students of airport electrical engineering program on third semester in polytechnic (Polketbang) Surabaya. The sample of the study included 47 students of TLB 11 AB class as experimental group of problem based learning strategy media mock up and 46 students of TLB 12AB class as controlled group of problem based learning strategy. Learning outcomes data are collected by learning outcomes tests in the form of multiple choices. Data collection was analyzed by using two-tailed of ANAVA (analysis of variance) with significant 0,05.
The research has shown that : (1) there is signifficantly different of programmable logic controller learning outcomes between those cadest which learnt by using problem based learning media mock up and problem based learning (Fcount =11,120 significant level 0,001), (2) there is significantly different of programmable logic controller learning outcomes between those cadets who have high and low of initial ability (Fcount =82.675 significancy level 0,03), (3) there is no interaction influence between learning strategy and initial ability of cadets against learning outcomes of programmable logic controller (Fcount = 0.31 with significant level α = 0,861).
