The Influence of School Principal Leadership and Work Motivation On The Professional Competency Of Private High School Teachers In Genteng District, Surabaya
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja terhadap kompetensi profesional guru SMA swasta se Kecamatan Genteng Kota Surabaya. Pnelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel sampling jenuh dengan menyebarkan instrumen kuesioner kepada 114 guru sebagai sampel. Adapun hasil analissi data menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tingkat Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah, Motivasi Kerja, dan Kompetensi Profesional Guru dalam kategori sedang. (2) Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi profesional guru sebesar 18,0%. (3) Motivasi Kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi profesional guru sebesar 13,1%. (4) Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan Motivasi Kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi profesional guru sebesar 25,0%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja guru berpengaruh terhadap kompetensi profesional guru SMA swasta se Kecamatan Genteng Kota Surabaya. Oleh karena itu, kompetensi profesional guru dapat ditingkatkan melalui peningkatan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja guru.
This research aims to determine the influence of school principal leadership and work motivation on the professional competence of private high school teachers in Genteng District, Surabaya City. This research used a quantitative method with a saturated sampling technique by distributing questionnaire instruments to 114 teachers as a sample. The results of data analysis show that: (1) The level of Principal Leadership, Work Motivation and Teacher Professional Competence is in the medium category. (2) Principal leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher professional competence by 18.0%. (3) Work Motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher professional competence by 13.1%. (4) Principal Leadership and Work Motivation have a positive and significant effect on teacher professional competence by 25.0%. This research concludes that the leadership of school principals and teacher work motivation influence the professional competence of private high school teachers in Genteng District, Surabaya City. Therefore, teachers' professional competence can be improved through increasing principal leadership and teacher work motivation
