PENGARUH LIMBAH CRUMB RUBBER DAN FLY ASH SEBAGAI BAHAN SUBSTITUSI SEMEN SERTA AGREGAT HALUS PADA CAMPURAN PEMBUATAN MORTAR BATA INTERLOCKING
THE EFFECT OF CRUMB RUBBER AND FLY ASH WASTE AS CEMENT SUBSTITUTION MATERIALS AND FINE AGGREGATES IN THE MIXTURE OF MAKING INTERLOCKING BRICK MORTAR
Peningkatan Jumlah Penduduk di Indonesia mengakibatkan adanya peningkatan kebutuhan perumahan dan Kawasan permukiman. Hal tersebut juga berpengaruh pada kebutuhan material pada proyek kontruksi seperti, batu bata, besi, pasir, dan semen. Pada proses Produksi semen Portland terjadi pelepasan emisi gas karbondioksida (CO2) dalam jumlah besar dapat menyebabkan Pemanasan Global. Material pasir biasanya didapatkan dari aktifitas penambangan Galian pasir yang menyebabkan kerusakan lingkungan secara fisik seperti erosi. Salah satu Solusi dalam mengurangi pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan adalah dengan memanfaatkan material Limbah sebagai bahan substitusi semen dan Agregat halus. Dua limbah yang potensial untuk digunakan sebagai Campuran Mortar Bata Interlocking adalah Crumb Rubber dan Fly Ash.
Fly Ash mengandung senyawa kimia seperti, Silikon dioksida (SiO2), Aluminium (Al), dan kalsium oksida (CaO) maka Fly Ash bersifat Pozzolan. Penambahan Crumb Rubber dalam mortar dapat memperbaiki sifat campuran seperti keuletan, ketangguhan, dan ketahanan benturan. Untuk mengetahui Pengaruh substitusi semen serta Agregat Halus pada pembuatan mortar Bata Interlocking maka dilakukan pengujian secara fisik dan mekanik seperti pengujian Massa Jenis, Pengujian Kuat Tekan, Pengujian Kuat Lentur, dan Pengujian Penyerapan Air. Dengan Variasi Campuran yang digunakan yakni Fly Ash 0%, 50%, 60%, & 70% serta Crumb Rubber 0%, 5%, 10%, & 15%.
Pengaruh Crumb Rubber dan Fly Ash sebagai bahan pengganti semen dan agregat halus terhadap Massa Jenis mortar pada bata Interlocking. Pengaruh Penambahan Crumb Rubber menyebabkan penurunan massa jenis seiring dengan peningkatan persentase Crumb Rubber. sedangkan Fly Ash meningkatkan massa jenis sampai persentase 60%. Setelah melebihi persentase Fly Ash 60% cenderung mengalami penurunan. Pengaruh Crumb Rubber dan Fly Ash sebagai bahan pengganti semen dan agregat halus terhadap Penyerapan Air mortar pada bata Interlocking. Pengaruh penambahan Crumb Rubber menunjukan peningkatan seiring dengan bertambahnya persentase Crumb Rubber. sedangkan pengaruh penambahan Fly Ash menunjukan penurunan sampai persentase 60%. Setelah melebihi persentase Fly Ash 60% cenderung meningkat. Pengaruh Crumb Rubber dan Fly Ash sebagai bahan pengganti semen dan agregat halus terhadap Kuat Tekan mortar pada bata Interlocking. Pengaruh Penambahan Crumb Rubber menyebabkan penurunan Kuat Tekan seiring dengan peningkatan persentase Crumb Rubber. sedangkan pengaruh penambahan Fly Ash menunjukan peningkatan sampai persentase 60%. Setelah melebihi persentase Fly Ash 60% cenderung menurun. Pengaruh Crumb Rubber dan Fly Ash sebagai bahan pengganti semen dan agregat halus terhadap Kuat Lentur mortar pada bata Interlocking. Bahwa menunjukan penurunan seiring dengan peningkatan persentase Crumb Rubber dan Fly Ash.

The increase in the number of people in Indonesia has resulted in an increase in the need for housing and residential areas. This also affects the material needs of construction projects such as bricks, iron, sand, and cement. In the Portland cement production process, there is a large amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas emissions that can cause Global Warming. Sand material is usually obtained from sand mining activities that cause physical environmental damage such as erosion. One of the solutions in reducing pollution and environmental damage is to utilize waste materials as substitutes for cement and fine aggregates. Two wastes that have the potential to be used as an Interlocking Brick Mortar Mixture are Crumb Rubber and Fly Ash.
Fly Ash contains chemical compounds such as, Silicon dioxide (SiO2), Aluminum (Al), and calcium oxide (CaO) so Fly Ash is Pozzolan. The addition of Crumb Rubber in the mortar can improve the properties of the mixture such as ductility, toughness, and impact resistance. To find out the effect of cement substitution and fine aggregate on the manufacture of Interlocking Brick mortar, physical and mechanical tests were carried out such as Density Testing, Compressive Strength Testing, Flexural Strength Testing, and Water Absorption Testing. With the Mixed Variations used, namely Fly Ash 0%, 50%, 60%, & 70% and Crumb Rubber 0%, 5%, 10%, & 15%.
Effect of Crumb Rubber and Fly Ash as a substitute for cement and fine aggregate on the Density of mortar in Interlocking bricks. The effect of adding Crumb Rubber causes a decrease in density along with the increase in the percentage of Crumb Rubber. while Fly Ash increases density by up to 60%. After exceeding the 60% Fly Ash percentage, it tends to decrease. The effect of Crumb Rubber and Fly Ash as a substitute for cement and fine aggregates on the Water Absorption of mortar in Interlocking bricks. The effect of adding Crumb Rubber shows an increase along with the increase in the percentage of Crumb Rubber. while the effect of adding Fly Ash shows a decrease of up to 60%. After exceeding the 60% Fly Ash percentage, it tends to increase. Effect of Crumb Rubber and Fly Ash as a substitute for cement and fine aggregate against the Compressive Strength of mortar on Interlocking bricks. The effect of the addition of Crumb Rubber causes a decrease in Compressive Strength along with the increase in the percentage of Crumb Rubber. while the effect of the addition of Fly Ash shows an increase of up to 60%. After exceeding the percentage of Fly Ash 60% tends to decrease. The effect of Crumb Rubber and Fly Ash as a substitute for cement and fine aggregate against the Bending Strength of mortar on Interlocking bricks. That shows a decrease in line with the increase in the percentage of Crumb Rubber and Fly Ash.
