The Influence of Community Education Level on Income in Montong District, Tuban Regency

Sektor penyusun IPM Kabupaten Tuban yang paling rendah yakni berada di pendidikan dengan rata-rata lama sekolah pada tahun 2023 sebesar 7,4 tahun atau setara dengan kelas 7 SMP. Kecamatan Montong merupakan salah satu Kecamatan yang memiliki pendapatan yang rendah, berdasarkan data BPS menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat usia produktif umumnya bekerja sebagai petani dengan rata-rata latar pendidikan SD dan SMP. Penelitian ini mengkaji terkait seberapa besar pengaruh tingkat pendidikan masyarakat usia produktif terhadap pendapatan usia produktif di Kecamatan Montong, dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis seberapa signifikan pengaruhnya tingkat pendidikan masyarakat usia produktif terhadap jumlah pendapatan di Kecamatan Montong.

Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara langsung menggunakan metode survei dengan instrumen berupa kuesioner tertutup kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data persamaan regresi logistik.

Masyarakat Kecamatan Montong sebagian besar adalah usia 36-45 tahun sebanyak  55% dari total keseluruhan yang bekerja sebagai petani dengan latar belakang pendidikan SD dan SMP dan pendapatan sebesar  rentang Rp.500.000,00-Rp.3.000.000,00 per bulan. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diolah didapatkan nilai odds ratio sebesar 0,069 yang berarti responden dengan tingkat pendidikan menengah ke atas berpeluang besar memiliki pendapatan di atas rata-rata sebesar 0,069 atau Rp.207.000/bulan pada setiap peningkatan satu tahun sukses. Temuan ini dapat digunakan untuk membantu pemerintah khususnya kecamatan Montong dalam upaya peningkatan pendapatan masyarakatnya.

The sector composing the Human Development Index (HDI) of Tuban Regency with the lowest score is education, indicated by an average length of schooling in 2023 of 7.4 years, equivalent to the 7th grade of junior high school. Montong District is one of the districts characterized by low income, where data from BPS shows that the productive-age population generally works as farmers with an educational background predominantly at the elementary and junior high school levels. This study examines the extent to which the educational level of the productive-age population influences their income in Montong District, aiming to analyze the significance of this influence on income levels.

The research methodology employed is quantitative. Data collection was conducted directly using a survey method with a closed questionnaire as the instrument, and analyzed using logistic regression equation data analysis techniques.

Most of the population in Montong District are aged 36-45 years, comprising 55% of the total, working primarily as farmers with educational backgrounds ranging from elementary to junior high school, and earning between Rp. 500,000.00 to Rp. 3,000,000.00 per month. Based on the processed results, an odds ratio of 0.069 was obtained, indicating that respondents with at least a middle school education or higher are significantly more likely to have incomes above average, approximately Rp. 207,000 per month, for every successful year of increase in education. These findings can be utilized to assist the government, particularly in Montong District, in efforts to improve the income of its residents.
