Dalam dunia kesehatan, SMK Kesehatan memiliki kontribusi yang sangat signifikan dalam mencetak tenaga kesehatan, mengingat kesehatan adalah rumpun ilmu yang secara konstan berkembang dari waktu ke waktu. Perkembangan IDUKA bidang kesehatan yang juga terjadi saat ini tentu membutuhkan tenaga kesehatan dengan keahlian yang sesuai bidangnya. Saat ini, jenjang SMK Kesehatan secara langsung terlibat dalam layanan sosial. Sebab, beriring waktu, dalam layanan kesehatan, aspek sosial dan psikologis juga perlu diperhatikan. Di samping itu, jumlah dokter, petugas medis, rumah sakit dan puskesmas yang tersedia sampai saat ini masih jauh di bawah ketentuan WHO.

Peran SMK Kesehatan begitu krusial dalam melahirkan tenaga kesehatan sebagau syarat pemenuhan kebutuhan industri dan dunia kerja. Sekolah kejuruan kesehatan berpartisipasi mendidik dan menghasilkan generasi muda yang kompeten dan terampil di bidang kesehatan. Tahun 2020, pemerintah mengakui lulusan sekolah menengah kejuruan kesehatan menjadi tenaga medis profesional yang mampu berkarier di lembaga layanan kesehatan. UU RI Nomor 36 Tahun 2014 yang membahas perihal tenaga medis menyatakan bahwa lulusan sekolah menengah kejuruan kesehatan bisa bekerja sebagai seorang asisten tenaga medis; asiten keperawatan, asisten apoteker, dan sejenisnya. Seiring peningkatan jumlah penduduk lansia, pemenuhan kebutuhan tenaga medis khusus homecare juga ikut mengalami peningkatan. Di sinilah peran lulusan sekolah kejuruan kesehatan dapat ikut andil dalam memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. SMK Kesehatan berpartisipasi mendidik dan menghasilkan generasi muda yang kompeten dan terampil berkarier di bidang kesehatan.

SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya dan SMK Kesehatan Surabaya merupakan dua sekolah kesehatan di Surabaya dengan mayoritas output peserta didik yang bisa terjun berkarier di bidang kesehatan. Dua sekolah ini menerapkan manajemen karier yang komprehensif untuk peserta didik. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis manajemen karier peserta didik di SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya dan SMK Kesehatan Surabaya.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya dan SMK Kesehatan Surabaya memiliki manajemen karier yang berbeda, namun cukup signifikan, mulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengawasan, faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat.

SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya dan SMK Kesehatan Surabaya sama-sama memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. Tapi, implikasinya, apabila kelebihan yang ada di dua sekolah ini dikolaborasikan dan kekurangannya dievaluasi bersama, maka bisa menjadi SMK Kesehatan yang ideal dan unggul atau menjadi SMK baru yang kemudian bisa menjadi rujukan dari sekolah-sekolah SMK Kesehatan lainnya dalam hal manajemen karier peserta didik.

In the world of health, Health Vocational Schools have a very significant contribution in producing health workers, considering that health is a family of sciences that constantly develops from time to time. The development of IDUKA in the health sector that is also happening today certainly requires health workers with expertise in their fields. Currently, the SMK Kesehatan level is directly involved in social services. Because, over time, in health services, social and psychological aspects also need to be considered. In addition, the number of doctors, medical officers, hospitals and health centers available to date is still far below WHO requirements.

The role of Health Vocational Schools is crucial in producing health workers as a requirement to fulfill the needs of industry and the world of work. Health vocational schools participate in educating and producing competent and skilled young people in the health sector. In 2020, the government recognizes health vocational high school graduates as professional medical personnel who are able to pursue a career in health service institutions. Indonesian Law No. 36/2014, which discusses medical personnel, states that health vocational high school graduates can work as a medical assistant; nursing assistants, pharmacist assistants, and the like. As the number of elderly people increases, the fulfillment of the need for medical personnel specializing in homecare has also increased. This is where health vocational school graduates can play a role in meeting these needs. SMK Kesehatan participates in educating and producing young people who are competent and skilled for a career in the health sector.

SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya and SMK Kesehatan Surabaya are two health schools in Surabaya with the majority of output students who can enter a career in the health sector. These two schools implement comprehensive career management for students. This study focuses on knowing and analyzing the career management of students at SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya and SMK Kesehatan Surabaya.

Based on the results of the study, SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya and SMK Kesehatan Surabaya have different, but significant career management, ranging from planning, organizing, supervising, supporting factors and inhibiting factors.

SMK Kesehatan Nusantara Surabaya and SMK Kesehatan Surabaya both have their own strengths and weaknesses. However, the implication is that if the strengths of these two schools are collaborated and the weaknesses are evaluated together, they can become an ideal and superior SMK Kesehatan or become a new SMK which can then become a reference for other SMK Kesehatan schools in terms of student career management.
