Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran berupa komik edukasi IPA pada materi cahaya dan alat optik yang layak berdasarkan aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D), namun tahap yang ditempuh hanya sampai uji coba terbatas. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada peserta didik kelas VII-A SMP Al-Azhar 13 Surabaya sebanyak 15 peserta didik, dengan desain penelitian yaitu One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran komik edukasi IPA dinyatakan layak berdasarkan aspek validitas ditinjau dari hasil penilaian 3 validator menggunakan instrumen validasi untuk dinilai dan diberi saran, yang memperoleh modus sebesar 4 dengan kriteria sangat layak. Kelayakan media pembelajaran komik edukasi IPA berdasarkan aspek kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa hasil keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yang ditinjau dari penilaian observer pada lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran saat pembelajaran diperoleh modus sebesar 3 dengan kriteria baik, kemudian didukung oleh hasil respon peserta didik yang ditinjau dari hasil penyebaran angket respon memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 96,6% dengan kriteria sangat baik serta hasil observasi aktivitas peserta didik yang ditinjau dari lembar observeri aktivitas selama pembelajaran menunjukkan persentase sebesar 97,85% sehingga dapat dinyatakan sangat baik. Kelayakan media pembelajaran komik edukasi IPA berdasarkan aspek keefektifan diperoleh dari test hasil belajar peserta didik. Hasil belajar peserta didik terdapat peningkatan gain score antara pretest dan posttest peserta didik sebesar 0,64 dengan kriteria sedang dan 78,27% peserta didik dinyatakan tuntas. Peningkatan gain score rata-rata tiap sub materi adalah 0,31 dengan kriteria sedang. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran komik edukasi IPA pada materi sistem cahaya dan alat optik dinyatakan layak berdasarkan aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan.

This research aims to produce education comic as science teaching material on light and appropriate optical devices which is based on aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The type of research used is research and development (R & D), but done are completed on the limited trials only. This study was conducted on 15 students VII-A class of SMP Al- Azhar 13 Surabaya, and used One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The result of the research shows that the education comic developed is proven to have feasible validity, considered by validation instruments to be assessed and advised from 3 validators, which got mode of 4 with the very good criteria. The feasibility of science education comic learning media based on practical aspects shows that the results of the learning implementation viewed from the observer's assessment on the observation sheet of learning implementation when learning obtained a mode of 3 with good criteria, then supported by student response results in terms of the results of the questionnaire average of 96,6% with very good criteria and observations of the activities of students which are viewed from the observer sheet activity during learning shows a percentage of 97.85% so that it can be stated to be very good. The feasibility of learning media for science education comics based on effectiveness aspects is obtained from the test of student learning outcomes. The learning outcomes of students have an increase in the gain score between the pretest and posttest of students by 0.64 with moderate criteria and 78.27% of students declared complete. The increase in gain score on average for each sub-material is 0.31 with the criteria being medium. Thus it can be concluded that the learning media of science education comics on the material of light systems and optical devices are declared feasible based on aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.
