APPLICATION OF SELF ASSESSMENT IN PBL-BASED LEARNING ON MECHANICAL WAVES TO EVALUATE THE ACHIEVEMENT OF CRITICAL THINKING ABILITIES OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (i) mendeskripsikan penerapan Self-Assessment pada pembelajaran berbasis PBL materi gelombang mekanik dapat meningkatkan capaian kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA; dan (ii) mendeskripsikan hasil Self- Assessment pada pembelajaran berbasis PBL materi gelombang mekanik untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan siswa dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran PBl. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian mixed metods dengan desain one group pre-test post-test. Subjek penelitian ini peserta didik SMA kelas XI-3, di SMA Negeri 1 Menganti tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes dan Self Assessment. Data dari penelitian ini yaitu hasil pre-test dan post- test keterampilan berpikir kritis, penilaian Self-Assessment. Hasil penerapan self-asessment pada pembelajran berbasis PBL terhadap capaain pembelajaran berbasis PBL, hasil pre-test dan post-test keterampilan berpikir kritis, hasil pre-test dan post-test keterampilan berpikir kritis dianalisis dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test untuk mengetahui beda mean yang signifikan antara pre test dan post-test dan n-gain. Dari penelitian ini, Self-Assessment berbasis PBL menggunakan instrumen penilaian berupa lembar penilaian didapatkan hasil bahwa (i) terlaksana dengan efektif menunjukkan kategori sedang dengan nilai peningkatan 0,70 untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMA kelas XI; (ii) mampu digunakan secara optimal dalam mengevaluasi kemampuan siswa dalam melakasnakan kegiatan pembelajaran PBL. Dengan ketuntasaan siswa tertinggi pada siklus “melakukan penyelidikan individu maupun kelompok” dan “menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah” sebanyak 91,6% atau 33 siswa. Ketuntasan siswa terendah yaitu pada siklus “mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya” sebanyak 80,5% atau 29 siswa.

This study aims to (i) describe the application of Self Assessment in PBL-based learning of mechanical wave material can improve the achievement of critical thinking skills of high school students; and (ii) describe the results of Self-Assessment in PBL-based learning of mechanical wave material to evaluate students' abilities in carrying out PBL learning activities. This type of research is a mixed method study with a one group pre-test post-test design. The subjects of this study were high school students in grade XI-3, at SMA Negeri 1 Menganti in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques using observation, tests and Self-Assessment. The data from this study are the results of the pre-test and post-test of critical thinking skills, Self-Assessment assessment. The results of the application of self-assessment in PBL-based learning on PBL-based learning achievements, the results of the pre-test and post-test of critical thinking skills, the results of the pre-test and post test of critical thinking skills were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to determine the significant mean difference between the pre test and post-test and n-gain. From this study, PBL-based Self Assessment using an assessment instrument in the form of an assessment sheet obtained the results that (i) it was implemented effectively showing a moderate category with an increase value of 0.70 to improve critical thinking of grade XI high school students; (ii) it can be used optimally in evaluating students' abilities in carrying out PBL learning activities. With the highest student completion in the cycle "conducting individual and group investigations" and "analyzing and evaluating the problem solving process" as many as 91.6% or 33 students. The lowest student completion was in the cycle "developing and presenting work results" as many as 80.5% or 29 students.
