Seni lukis merupakan materi pada pelajaran Seni Budaya. Pembelajaran seni lukis di SMPN 2 Paron Ngawi sedikit berbeda pada media, yaitu pelepah pisang kering. Proses berkarya berupa menggambar dengan spidol pada pelepah pisang kering sesuai tekstur media. Pembelajaran telah berlangsung selama kurang lebih 10 tahun dan belum ada pembaruan. Alasannya, anak kampung yang susah mengeluarkan dana untuk membeli bahan lain, karena pelepah pisang kering sudah melimpah di lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka. Melalui uji coba bahan alam teknik mozaik media pelepah pisang kering untuk berkarya seni lukis diharapkan memberi alternatif baru. Jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan pembelajaran seni lukis, hasil karya, dan respon siswa. Persiapan pembelajaran diawali menyiapkan media, alat, bahan, dan pemberian materi secara tatap muka. Hasil karya siswa dilihat berdasarkan analisis pola, pemilihan bahan, kerapian, dan waktu pengerjaan. Respon angket disebutkan 6 dari 7 siswa belum pernah berkarya seni lukis mixed media teknik mozaik. Pendapat siswa pada pembelajaran ini yaitu menyenangkan, menambah pengalaman baru,mudah dilakukan, serta meningkatkan kreativitas. sedangkan kesulitan siswa meliputi mencari pola pada media, menata dan menentukan bahan, penempelan bahan, dan ketelitian saat menempel. Dari pendapat siswa, uji coba bahan alam teknik mozaik media pelepah pisang kering untuk berkarya seni lukis ini memiliki kemudahan dan kesulitan.

Painting is a material in the Cultural Arts lesson. The learning of painting at SMPN 2 Paron Ngawi is slightly different in the media, namely dried banana stems. The work process is in the form of drawing with a marker on dry banana stems according to the texture of the media. Learning has been going on for approximately 10 years and there has been no update. The reason is that it is difficult for village children to spend funds to buy other materials, because dried banana stems are already abundant in their neighborhood. Through the trial of natural materials, the mosaic technique of dried banana midrib media for painting is expected to provide a new alternative. This type of qualitative descriptive research with the aim of learning painting, work, and student responses. Learning preparation begins with preparing media, tools, materials, and providing face-to-face material. The results of student work are seen based on pattern analysis, material selection, neatness, and processing time. The response to the questionnaire stated that 6 out of 7 students had never done mixed media painting with mosaic techniques. Students' opinions on this learning are fun, add new experiences, easy to do, and increase creativity. while the students' difficulties include looking for patterns on the media, arranging and determining materials, sticking materials, and being careful when pasting. From the student's opinion, the trial of natural materials with dried banana midrib media mosaic techniques for painting has both advantages and disadvantages.
