Japanese is a language that has various
forms of its language. So many Japanese
students feel confused in learning Japanese itself. Some troubles in Japanese
students generally because of difficulity
students to interpret a word or sentence in Japanese.
According to
Verhaar (2010: 385) semantics is a branch of linguistics that examines
meaning. From this opinion it can be
concluded that semantics is a field of linguistics that learn about meaning. This
minithesis using contrastive
analysis to find out the similarities and differences in verbs of
Japanese and Indonesian.
Based on it
there
are three problems, that is how
to describe the meaning of kangaeru verb,
how to describe the meaning of thinking verb, and how to describe the
similarities and differences the meaning of kangaeru
and thinking. First
problem used
Sutedi (2008) and Hirose Masayoshi (2001) theory. Second
problem used
Sutedi's (2003). Then third
problem based on Suzuki's contrastive analysis theory (1989: 61). Japanese verb data sources from the Yomiuri
Shinbun online. Whereas, data
sources in Indonesian is from Jawa Pos
newspaper online.
The results of this research
will be explained as:
1.
There
are 10 translation meanings of kangaeru
verb. Then it can be concluded that meaning
of verb in Japanese has more than one meaning.
2.
The meaning of thinking verb in
Indonesian is thinking. Meaning of thinking verb can be used as explanatory
meaning only.
3.
There are differences between Japanese and Indonesian verbs
can
be seen from the context of the sentence.
The similarities
and differences meaning of Japanese with Indonesian verb depend
on the context of the sentence used. If
in Japanese, meaning
of verb can be more than one, while the meaning of verb in Indonesian means
permanent.
